Recorded for the ASV label in 1990, this collection of Ravel's piano music has never previously been released complete. Now reissued for the first time in more than a decade, this set presents not the kind of coolly objective view of the fastidious composer-craftsman that modern recordings have accustomed us to, but more of a poet in sound and in touch with his Basque origins. The piano was for Ravel the principal medium of musical thought, and his approach to the instrument was at once lavish and precise. Lisztian virtuosity is entwined with an antique spirit of French dance in both the darkly Impressionist Gaspard de la nuit and the much gentler strains of the Valses nobles et sentimentales. Likewise Jeux d'eau takes it's inspiration from a Lisztian template while Le tombeau de Couperin pays deeply affectionate tribute both to friends killed in the First World War and to an imagined Eden of formal manners and gentility, presumed lost forever. Although his repertoire ranges from Bach to Webern, Gordon Fergus-Thompson has won particular renown as a Franco-Russian specialist in command of the most technically challenging repertoire by the likes of Balakirev. Following the reissue of his complete Scriabin recordings, and his renowned Debussy, Eloquence brings back another pair of albums which find the pianist in his element: rhythmically free yet in complete control of Ravel's fastidiously exacting scores; timbrally refined yet abandoned to the Viennese excess of La valse as well as the blurred, dream-like moods of the Miroirs.

Feels cheap
Style: Social Worker
The material feels a little too flimsy for my liking. When I picked it up, I noticed right away that it’s more on the budget side not the durable canvas or sturdy fabric you hope for in a daily-use tote. I wouldn’t trust it with anything heavier than maybe a few magazines or a change of clothes. Grocery runs? Forget it. The handles and the body don’t inspire confidence and I found myself double-checking the seams every time I loaded it up.
The look is actually pretty cute, so points for style. I can see it working as a light errand bag or something you toss in your car for emergencies. If you just need something casual for occasional use, like carrying snacks to a picnic or using it for light shopping, you’ll probably be fine.
But for anything that requires a bit more muscle, like regular grocery hauls or heavier books, this tote just isn’t up to the job

Delivered in mailbox folded up.
Style: Difference Maker Definition
The tote is beautiful! The only complaint I have is that it was delivered folded up in my mailbox. I’m going to try & use an iron on low heat to straighten it out. It is made out of a cheaper fabric.

Super cute… but not what the listing is

First of all, this listing is entirely inaccurate, as other reviews say, the picture is of a larger bag when in reality you are sent something much smaller and without the small wallet.
I wanted the smaller bag, so I ordered it intentionally, but if you are looking for the larger size, do not order this.
I included a side by side comparison of the two bags. The lighter bag is the size this listing is supposed to be (that I owned previously) and the smaller one is the one I was sent.
That being said the smaller bag is super cute and so similar to the Brooklyn bag! Just be aware that it does not match the listing :)
