Clark grew up in Seekonk, Massachusetts, and studied nearby in Providence at the Rhode Island School of Design, earning a BFA in Graphic Design with a focus on print design and alternative typography. During his studies, he discovered collage, a hands-on, spatial process that became central to both his digital practice and his physical work on wood and paper. He was named Pittsburgh’s 2015 Emerging Artist of the Year and received an Investing in Professional Artists Grant from The Pittsburgh Foundation and The Heinz Endowments. His drawings, paintings, and sculptures have been exhibited nationally, including at the Carnegie Museum of Art and the Chautauqua Institution. He lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and exhibits through galleries, museums, and art fairs across the country.

Statement: I’ve long been drawn to impermanence—the fleeting nature of life and the steady passage of time. In earlier work, I used decaying homes and buildings as symbols of fragility and nature’s quiet reclamation of human ambition. Recently, becoming a parent has shifted that lens toward something more hopeful, though still conflicted.
There is unease in raising children for a future that may hold only fragments of the world we know. How much hope do we offer, and how much warning? How do we prepare them for a world shaped by distorted priorities? In the Wanderer series, the buildings hold that tension. They are symbols of wonder and imagination, but also of escape and abandonment.
