The adage “everything’s bigger in Texas” is especially true of Billy Gibbons’ distinct style of rowdy blues rock. The ZZ Top front man’s tone now gets its due with signature Hades Gates pickups from Seymour Duncan! Available as singles or sets, these vintage-inspired Hades Gates humbuckers are handbuilt in California. Hades Gates pickups began with Billy’s affinity for Seymour Duncan’s Pearly Gates, an incredibly accurate player-approved reproduction of 1959 PAF humbuckers. Pearly Gates pickups provide sweet output and a slight attitude, whereas Hades Gates pickups issue a Texas-tinged alternative: fiery attitude laced with harmonic heat that’s earned a blessing from the Reverend himself. The Hades Gates has a soulful vintage-tinged sound that hits hot before melting into the vintage patina of Alnico II magnets; those who crave PAF clarity and more power for driving amps to the brink are sure to get a kick out of the bridge pickup’s sizzling highs and percussive midrange thump. Hades Gates pickups feature 4-conductor cable and short mounting legs for easy installation on most Les Paul-style guitars. Put some Texas-inspired power back in your blues-rock playing by upgrading your axe with Hades Gates pickups!

Accurate and easy to use
Size: 3 kg - Normal Size, Size: 3 kg - Normal Size
At the moment, I can't think of anything I dislike about this scale. The buttons are responsive, the measurements are accurate (I checked the readings with a couple of calibration weights from a scientific scale), the displays are clear. Operation in daily use is very simple. 1. Turn on scale 2. After self test, place carafe and filter 3. Press "T" to tare 4. Add grinds 5. Press "||>" to weigh the grinds. This automatically tares the scale again and sets the timer to standby. It also activates the coffee to water ratio display 6. Add water and the timer automatically starts so you get a precise bloom time. The added water is weighed and displayed as you pour and the coffee to water ratio display gives you an instantaneous reading, so you can brew your perfect cup of coffee each time. The scale has a large capacity and precise resolution so it works for single small cups to large pots. All in all, the best scale I've tried so far and might pick up another one when they go on sale (again). Highly recommended.

Mostly Great, But With One Problem
Size: 3 kg - Normal Size
Overall, this is a good scale and I do like it. However, it has one flaw that I'll mention later. First, the things I like. This is a nice looking scale. I like the design and the different colored displays for time and weights. The stainless steel on black is a classic look and very stylish in my opinion. The size is just right for brewing with French press or Chemex style brewers. It has a lot of plastic, but that is how all scales of this size are, especially in this price range. Having the ratio displayed is really nice. I use that about as much as looking at the grams during a pour over. I've also been using the automatic timing feature. I didn't think I'd like that, but it is actually quite useful. I've been using it for a month off of the first charge so I think that the battery life is good. Its also nice to be able to turn off the sound so I don't have to listen to beeping early in the morning when the rest of the family is sleeping. Being able to change the units of measure is great. I've weighed coffee, baking ingredients and even small packages prior to mailing them. It handles anything under 6 lbs. The display is sensitive and reads quickly. Which leads me to the one negative about this thing. When it is weighing room temperature items like beans or an empty brewer, its accurate and gives a steady reading. However, when you start introducing hot items (like brewing coffee which is what this is for) it starts to drop weight by 0.1g every 10 to 20 seconds. Even with the included silicone cover. I've added a cork trivet and another silicone pad under the brewer which didn't seem to help much. Eventually they warm up and the issue starts. Any raise in temp causes the unit to start lowering the weight as previously described. That's why I only gave it four stars. While this is annoying to see, it doesn't seem to mess with the overall brewing ratio or mess up my coffee brewing at all. By the time its doing this, I've usually made my pours and am in the 4 to 5 minute steeping period prior to finishing and decanting. At that point, I'm really only using the timer function anyway. Therefore, I didn't give it a lower rating since I like everything else about it and its not very expensive. All things considered, I think its a good value for the money and gets the job done.
