The American Lead is one of the most innovative leashes on the market due to its unique sliding handle.  The handle of the American Lead allows the user to expand the opening from a normal (8”) diameter all the way to a 30” diameter.  The ability to expand the handle gives the American Lead multiple uses.  You can open it up and place it around your waist for hands free walking, hiking or running. Carry it over one should for off-lead excursions, or double it back and place the handle over the dog’s head to create a short traffic lead when needed.  The many different uses of the American Lead is only limited by your imagination…and you wouldn’t even know this lead did that when the handle is closed.  Available in two rope thicknesses, 7/16” (about ½”) for larger dogs (over 50lbs) and 5/16” (just over a ¼”) for dogs under 50lbs, two lengths (72”, 48”), with or without an Urban Handle and in 19 different colors and patterns.  For the "Running" version of this lead, please go to "American Running Lead" in this catalog..
