Technical Details of Black Box LPB1200 Series Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ Switch

The LPB1200 Series is engineered to simplify power-enabled networking while preserving high-speed data communication across all connections. Key specifications emphasize PoE+ efficiency, ease of use, and broad compatibility with standard ethernet devices. With a focus on safety and reliability, the switch works to maximize uptime and minimize maintenance in busy environments such as security deployments, conference rooms, and classrooms. The following details summarize core capabilities that help you plan, deploy, and scale with confidence:

  • PoE+ power delivery per port: Up to 30 W per port (IEEE 802.3at), enabling high-powered devices to operate over a single Ethernet link.
  • Total PoE power budget: 144 W for powering multiple devices simultaneously without external external power inputs beyond the switch itself.
  • Gigabit data transfer: Each port supports 10/100/1000 Mbps with auto-negotiation to ensure optimal speed and compatibility with mixed-device networks.
  • Auto-detection of PoE devices: The switch senses connected PoE devices and negotiates power delivery automatically, preventing overloading and reducing the need for manual configuration.
  • LED indicators for monitoring: Front-panel LEDs display link activity, PoE status, and fault conditions for quick diagnostics and proactive maintenance.
  • Ease of use and compatibility: Designed for plug-and-play deployment with a wide range of PoE-enabled devices, including IP cameras, VoIP phones, wireless access points, and small network appliances.

In practice, the LPB1200 Series delivers a balanced blend of power and performance. The PoE+ capability means you can centralize device power without cascading power bricks, while the Gigabit ports ensure that data-intensive applications—like video surveillance or high-density VoIP deployments—aren’t bottlenecked by the network. The auto-detect feature protects both the switch and connected devices, ensuring that power is only provided when a compatible PoE device is present and needs it. Additionally, the LED indicators support rapid fault isolation, so technicians can quickly determine which ports are active, which are powering devices, and where a problem may lie. For organizations seeking to simplify their network topology while preserving expandability, the LPB1200 Series stands out as a highly practical solution that scales with your needs.

How to Install Black Box LPB1200 Series Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ Switch

  • Choose a stable location or rack-mount area for the LPB1200 Series to ensure reliable operation and tidy cable management.
  • Connect the switch to a suitable power source using the appropriate power input. Verify that the outlet or power strip can comfortably handle the switch’s electrical load and that any power protection strategies (surge protection, UPS) align with your environment.
  • Use a high-quality Ethernet cable (Cat5e or Cat6) to connect the uplink port on the LPB1200 to your router, modem, or upstream switch. This creates the data path for network traffic and management communication.
  • Connect PoE-powered devices—such as IP cameras, VoIP phones, or wireless access points—to the PoE-enabled ports of the LPB1200. If a device is not PoE-capable, you can still connect it to a non-PoE port to use data connectivity while relying on separate power sources if needed.
  • Power on the LPB1200 Series and inspect the front-panel LEDs. A healthy link LED indicates a successful connection, while PoE LEDs confirm power delivery to connected devices. If any port shows an abnormal status, consult the LED indicators to identify and address the issue.
  • Confirm operation with a connected device. For PoE devices, verify that the device powers on and functions as expected. For data devices, verify network activity and throughput. If necessary, test performance with a simple file transfer or video stream to ensure the network meets your requirements.
  • Document your setup for future maintenance. Note which ports power which devices, the overall PoE budget usage, and any changes to uplink configurations. This helps with future expansions and troubleshooting.
  • Optional: If you need a more organized layout, consider cable management accessories or a small mounting rack to keep everything neatly arranged and accessible for service or upgrades.

Reliable, long-lasting protection. I’ve used this for workouts, beach days, and long hours outside, and it holds up really well. It absorbs quickly, and actually stays on when you sweat. Great value for the size and performance. Definitely a go-to sunscreen for active days. I like the small size. It is easily portable.

TSA approved but…
Size: 3 Fl Oz (Pack of 2), Style: SPF 30
I’m not super picky when it comes to sunscreen and I needed a sunscreen that would be TSA approved. This fit the bill and didn’t break the bank (getting a 2 pack is nice as well). However, I find that this sunscreen just underperformed for me. It could be that I should up the SPF factor but when using my usual brand their 30 works a bit better than Banana Boat’s version. I wouldn’t say that this product is useless because it did prevent burning in certain areas but I still burned a bit in other areas. However, this could be my fault. I was outside for about an hour with 9 UV rays in a bikini in the California sun. I will say that I did reapply before 2 hrs so I’m just a little bit let down that it didn’t quite perform a bit better. But again, could be user error and perhaps just be really particular about your application technique. If you’re in a pinch, go for it but I’d honestly even recommend upping your SPF factor if you are set on Banana Boat’s while still meeting the TSA sizing requirement. Smells good though and isn’t the stickiest compared to some of the other brands!

Good sunblock. New bottle design with easy to read expiration date.
Size: 8 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Style: SPF 30
When reviewing this product. It ask you to put a STAR for: Sun protection Water resistance I put 5 stars because, how would i know? I don't use it to go into water and you'd need to be a scientist testing how good the sun protection is. I just assume it works. But i've used banana boat sunblock in the past. And it's been fine. No sunburns. As long as you remember to re-apply it because it's not meant to last all day. Pros: - It's sunblock - It works (from my previous experience) - New bottle design. They changed the style of the bottle. The new bottle has the date on it. The old bottles only had a serial number. In order to find out if your old bottles are expired you had to go to the banana boat website and see the instructions on how to read the serial # that way you can know the expiration date. The new bottle is more simple, the date is laid out easy to read on the bottle. - Long expiration date: I bought this sunblock around april or may of 2020 and the bottle says it will expire January 01, 2022 - Nice slim bottle to fit into a small bag. Cons: - It's a small 8 FL OZ bottle. My old bottle is a 10 FL OZ. Not sure if they still sell the 10FL OZ. - It feels a little heavy and thick on the skin. But after a while it's fine. - If you rub your hands / fingers around your eye, especially if you're sweaty. You might get the sunblock into your eyes. That has happened to me on hot summer days. It will make you teary eyed and irritate your eyes for a long while. - I hear this sunblock may stain clothes. So far that has not happened to me.
