The MRG-B2000BG is inspired by the traditional Japanese color of kurogane-iro, the deep shade of blue-green that iron takes on when heated to make traditional Japanese armor and helmets. A deep-layer hardening process and green diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating applied to the titanium exterior are used to capture this subtle hue.

The MRG-B2000BG echoes the kurogane-iro theme in the dark green DLC finish used on its solid titanium watch band.

The dial’s outer edge is cut to evoke the look of a Japanese folding fan or screen, showcasing a simple, yet sophisticated texture. The indexes, designed to echo the gentle curvature of Japanese swords, feature a grind-mark finish that offers the beautiful edging and curves that only Yamagata Casio’s nano-processing technology can produce.
