Each story is given in parallel Chinese and English versions, and is accompanied by a short essay about its historical context, a vocabulary list, discussion questions, and native speaker audio recordings.

He even attempted to hide this crime by obliterating his wife and two children, but was thwarted by Judge Bao, who risked his own life and career to carry out justice
About the Author
Vivian Ling has enjoyed a long career teaching Chinese language and literature at Oberlin College and Indiana University, and directing language programs in Taipei, Shanghai, Kunming and Beijing. She is the author of many books, including The Field of Chinese Language Education in the U.S.: A Retrospective of the 20th Century. She has also co-authored several books with Wang Peng, including Essential Chinese Grammar, Chinese Stories for Language Learners, A Bilingual Treasury of Chinese Folktales and The Twelve Animals of the Chinese Zodiac.
Wang Peng has been on the faculty at Georgetown University since 2002, teaching Chinese language courses at many levels. Formerly, she was chief instructor at the Inter-University Program for Chinese Language Studies of Tsinghua University, and taught Chinese at Oberlin College and Brown University. This is the fifth book she has co-authored with Vivian Ling.

One of My Favorite Coffee Pods for the Vertuo

I keep buying this Nespresso Vertuo Variety Pack for a reason. The coffee tastes really good, smells amazing when brewing, and gives me a nice strong cup without tasting burnt or bitter. I like that it comes with different flavors so I’m not drinking the same thing every morning.
The pods work perfectly with my Vertuo machine and the crema on top makes it feel like coffee from a coffee shop at home. Stormio is definitely the stronger one, Melozio is smoother, and Odacio is right in the middle for me.
I also like that these make full-size cups instead of tiny little coffees. Super convenient in the morning when I need coffee fast before work.
Overall, definitely worth buying if you own a Vertuo machine. I’ve already ordered these multiple times and will probably keep buying them.

Nice range /variety

I was visiting someone for a week and they had the Nespresso machine. I was alarmed at how costly the pods were so decided to purchase a pack contribute towards the cost since my husband and I drink two cups each per day! This really adds up.
Regardless of the price, the product itself is lovely. It makes a great cup of coffee and I even was able to eliminate putting cream in my coffee because of the foam. It mimics the cream and it's a smooth taste. I really enjoyed it definitely recommend it if you don't mind using expensive pods that contribute to landfill waste.
What I also really liked was that there were over three of us drinking coffee and each of us had our favorite and fortunately for us all had had a different favor so the cups were equally divided among us. How lucky was that!

Very tasty! Rich and full. Drinking a cup is like riding a unicorn naked and bareback over a rainbow!
4/5 because of the price, not the quality. Do yourself a favor and buy the foil covers to refill the pods. You'll save a ton of $!!

Amazing coffee and super convenient!

I absolutely love these Nespresso capsules! They are an excellent option if you want great coffee without any hassle. They are super practical and make the brewing process fast and effortless, which is perfect when you’re in a hurry or just want a quick, delicious cup of coffee.
The coffee quality is outstanding—rich, flavorful, and smooth. It’s perfect to enjoy with family or friends, and everyone I’ve shared it with has loved the taste.

Expensive but good

I make my own pods for cost savings these are way too expensive but that said they are super good excellent quality coffee for sure but paying almost 50$ when I can make my own for 10$ is a no brainer but it does require some extra steps so do I recommend these absolutely I just prefer to make my own because I like Gevalia coffee far better
