Few towns in America have an architectural heritage as distinguished and well-preserved as that of Palm Beach, Florida. Since the Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach was founded in 1980, some 300 properties have been landmarked, and restorations have saved threatened buildings and neighborhoods. To illustrate dozens of the most significant of the landmarked streets and buildings on the island, the foundation enlisted the gifted artist Aldous Bertram, who has rendered them in exquisite watercolors.
