The Story

I painted a sky that was too big for the land beneath it. The white masses gathered in the foreground like everything I was carrying but could not put down. I called it strength. I called it independence. I called it being fine. The painting knows what I did not — that holding on is not the same as being strong.

The Crossing

Crossing 3.1 Resistance via Holding — Holding the Conflict. The landscape holds itself together beneath a vast sky that offers no shelter.
