Shemen is a handcrafted olive oil pitcher, made from durable stoneware and shaped by a deep connection to language, tradition, and place. The Hebrew word שמן (oil) is subtly embedded within the form itself—its letters sculpted into the architecture of the vessel.

The design draws inspiration from Israeli Brutalist architecture of the 1960s and ’70s, as well as the iconic dome of the Shrine of the Book at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. Both sacred and functional, this object celebrates the everyday ritual of pouring oil through a contemporary, sculptural lens.

Balancing utility with artistry, Shemen embodies a refined material language rooted in local history, Hebrew typography, and handcrafted excellence. It is a tactile expression of modern Judaica—elevating a daily act into a meaningful moment of beauty and cultural continuity.
