This handheld thermometer is FDA registered and takes only 1 second to read temperature. The temperature measurement is accurate within 0.5°F and is displayed clearly on the backlit LCD display. It's infrared sensor measures body temperature contact-free making it safer and more sanitary to use than traditional thermometers. It is portable, lightweight, and battery operated (takes 2 AAA batteries, not included). Weighs only 4.3 ounces with batteries installed. Taking a reading is as simple as holding the thermometer about 2 inches from forehead and squeezing the trigger. Temperature readings are stored in memory and up to 32 values are retained, then overwritten in chronological order. Powers off automatically when not in use to conserve battery. When a slight fever is detected (99.5°F to 100.3°F), the backlight turns ORANGE and turns RED when a fever is detected (100.4°F and up). NOTE: Normal body temperatures vary with age, sex, and more. Please refer to instruction manual for more information. There is also an audible alarm when a high temperature is detected. Backlight and all sounds can be disabled. Easily switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit just by holding a single button. The thermometer has two modes that you can switch between — one mode for reading body temperature and the other for reading the temperature of objects. An illustrated instruction manual is included.
