Background
YTHDC2 is an RNA-binding protein that specifically recognizes N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modifications on mRNA, functioning as a critical regulator of post-transcriptional gene expression by facilitating mRNA splicing, export, and degradation through its conserved YTH domain, with essential roles in spermatogenesis, oogenesis, and tumor progression where it modulates cell proliferation, apoptosis, and metastasis by controlling the stability and translation of key oncogenic and developmental transcripts.
