Hamerkop is a pair of Baltimore-based soundnerds: Annabel Alpers, the composer, singer andinstrumentalist formerly of New Zealand's Bachelorette, and Adam Cooke, a Baltimorean drummer/audio engineer with credits that include BeachHouse, Wye Oak and Future Islands. Together, they have created a song-cycle that contrasts theoften-mundane (yet often satisfying) everyday worldwith that of the idealized, longed-for fantasy, tofind the spaces in between these things, the placewhere we all feel good about our existence.Hamerkop's debut, Remote, started as an exploration of the sonic beauty in Alpers' collectionof field recordings from her homeland and travelsaround the world. Looped and sampled, they became a set of instrumental sounds oftheir own, and when played live in a multiple-speaker, surround-sound experience, theireffect was transporting. The finished album blends these expansive sounds in chorallayers of synths and vocals, with a kaleidoscopic, almost psychedelic quality, all of itanchored by Cooke's Kraut-minimal drumming.Remote is a natural progression from the criminally-underrated Bachelorette catalog-seeking catharsis through the contextualizing of personal texts into lush songscapes, using the chill of synth-pop to mask the fallible human soul hidden behind it. Far awayfrom her native New Zealand with a new life and family in America, Annabel strove tofind elements of her old identity in new environs, building songs out of sonic scrapsfrom remote places, as if she were sewing a blanket in which to wrap them all. As sheputs it, "Home for me is in two places, and it's been causing a lot of creative tensionbecause I wish I could be in both places at once."The songs of Remote find depth and dimension via a rich tapestry of voices, foundsounds and classic pop melodies, as constant synapse triggering from unexpectedangles and algorithms reveals, by chance and design, a magical inner life scored bybirds and babies, church bells and bonfires. Genre-defying, yet familiar, Hamerkoptranslates the topography that stretches out between us into a musical language thatcelebrates our shared places. The sound of Hamerkop is multi-layered, changing as it revolves. It's the sound madeby two people, but it could be all of us.1. Egg2. We Can Wing3. The Splendour That Was Rome4. Remote5. Deadwood6. Polisher7. Mourning Bells8. T.I.N.Y. 9. Lull10. Patience

Nontoxic sunscreen
Size: 1.7 Fl Oz (Pack of 2)
Excellent sunscreen! Nontoxic and gentle. I have sensitive skin and chemical sunscreens can irritate my skin, so I switched to this one. It has a creamy feel, but doesn’t make your skin look or feel oily. I have dry-normal skin, for reference. It initially has a bit of a white cast, but once rubbed in you don’t notice it.

Good sunscreen, but the shade didn’t work for me
Color: Medium
I bought the Colorescience Flex in Medium because I had seen great reviews and liked the idea of a tinted mineral sunscreen. The formula itself felt really high quality and it did provide good sun protection, but the shade didn’t end up working for my skin tone.
✔️ What I liked:
- Great daily mineral sun protection.
- Lightweight texture and easy to apply.
- Didn’t irritate my skin or cause breakouts.
- Nice natural finish at first.
❌ What I didn’t like:
- On my skin, the Medium shade looked orange.
- The color didn’t blend well with my undertone.
- I had to work it in quite a bit to avoid a noticeable line with my neck.
I think the formula is really good, but the shade selection definitely requires care. In my case, it just wasn’t the right match

Finally found my perfect match!! In foundation!
Color: Medium, Color: Medium
I’ve used many high-end foundations over the years, but Colorescience has become my everyday favorite. It feels incredibly lightweight on the skin and provides a natural, healthy-looking finish that doesn’t feel heavy or cakey.
The added SPF is a huge bonus and makes my morning routine so much easier. I also love how perfectly it matches my skin tone, it blends seamlessly and looks like my skin, just more even and polished.
If you prefer a natural, lightweight foundation with the added benefit of sun protection, this one is definitely worth trying.

Worth the investment! It lasts!!
Color: Medium, Color: Medium
I have been using this religiously as my foundation for over a year! I love it. It works best for me when I use moistuzer, let it dry enough so you have a little slip. A LITTLE goes a long way and double check the bottle because even when it feels empty it’s not fully empty :) it’s not a full coverage approach to foundation I use an elf glo setting over it in winter . It’s light weight and the SPF was what I was looking for!

Expensive, but a good product!
Color: Fair
Love this product. Comes out of the tube white but changes color as you apply. I find you do need moisturizer on your face to get a smoother application - I tend to mix it with my moisturizer before applying and it works well. Am currently on my 3rd tube of the stuff. A bit pricey, but for my skin it sits better than most other products I've tried and doesn't make me break out or look shiny.
