From the badlands of Brunswick and the seaside skulduggery of St Kilda, alt-country five-piece the Joelenes bring you their full-length album: Cool Hand Lucille. This 10-track collection of original songs is a celebration of love, loss, public transport (trams in particular), and the ability to keep on truckin' even when life seems hell-bent on bringing you down. Recorded over 12 months at Woodstock and Joeleco Studios, the album features Dead Man's Cigarette, Pass the Wine, Mary & Pat, the Tram Song and Some Consolation. The Joelenes unique and powerful sound is shaped by four-part harmonies, acoustic guitars, harmonica licks, keys, mandolin, stripped-back drums and dirty bass - it's a little bit rootsy, a little bit bar-room stomper, a little bit bluesy and a whole lotta alt-country. The female-fronted line-up features: Rosina 'slingshot' Gannon (guitar/vocals), Nina 'howlin' Rousseau (harmonica/vocals/guitar), Joanna 'Rainman' Flemming (keys/vocals/guitar/mandolin), Hadley 'big daddy' Agrez (bass) and Chris 'boom chicka' den Brave (drums/washboard). The Joelenes are overjoyed to be performing Cool Hand Lucille at the Toff in Town (252 Swanston Street, Melbourne; doors open 7pm) with special guests Simon Cleary, Paddy 'Clawhammer' Witton, Danger Alexander and 'The' Jack Norton. The launch will also be recorded. Cool Hand Lucille is published by Shock Music Publishing and distributed by Vitamin Records. It's available in all good record stores and iTunes from 2 November 2009.

Clarify Submission
Format: Kindle
The only thing I wish Elisabeth had covered is the concept of submission must be “as unto the Lord”which means not for the woman to submit to sin but to submit to her husband as she would Christ. Wives can submit as long as the husband is obedient to Christ in not compelling a woman to do something outside of the will of God. If the man is in submission to Christ then so is the wife. That is why it is so important for the woman to pray for her husband at all times.

Amazing book about marriage

Excellent read and one every woman should read, especially if she is engaged, newly married, or her daughter is. It contains lots of marriage wisdom and encouragement from a Christian perspective that is missing in today's culture.

A Wonderful Breakdown

I would like to mention that this is a great book, written by a greatly honored woman. Actually, my most honored author that will, more than likely, ever exist. I think it is alright for men to read this book, to better understand a small part of God's design of their wives or future wives, WHOM, also desires God's design for man and woman. If she does not, things can go bad, for the simple reason of wanting God's design. Also, to know their daughters. On a side note: there are three books (two my Elisabeth) that I think are great on the topic of God's design for the genders that should be read, but not leaned on. God should be the One we put our validation in, not a person or book. Personally, I think that this book should be read only with God, so He can hear all questions and smooth out what is not agreed with, and so it does not create any issues or expectations, and reading it should not be "known" by the spouse for the simple reason that I think it is important that spouses and future ones do not think the other is just listening to a book. Anyways, this is one amazing book pointing to God's design of woman.
