Discover a robust upgrade path for your network with the HPE 5510 2-port QSFP+ Module. Engineered to enhance capacity on select HPE FlexNetwork 5510 HI switches, this expansion module unlocks high-density 40 Gigabit Ethernet uplinks that fuel modern data centers, campus networks, and enterprise deployments. With two QSFP+ ports delivering up to 40Gbps per port, you gain the bandwidth necessary to support latency-sensitive applications, large file transfers, virtualization, and scalable cloud services. Built to integrate seamlessly into HPE environments, this module is designed to maximize throughput while minimizing deployment disruption, giving you a future-proofed path to faster networks without overhauling existing infrastructure.

  • High-speed 40GbE uplinks for scalable networks — This two-port QSFP+ module is optimized for 40 Gigabit Ethernet, enabling substantial uplink capacity to connect core switches, data center fabrics, and high-performance servers. By leveraging 40GBase-X technology, it supports rapid data transfer across demanding workloads, providing headroom for growth and reducing congestion in busy network paths. Whether you’re consolidating data center traffic or provisioning high-bandwidth backbones for virtualization, the module delivers the speed needed to keep applications responsive and users productive.
  • Dual-port QSFP+ design for flexible deployment — With two QSFP+ interfaces, you can implement diverse network architectures, including parallel uplinks, aggregated links, or dedicated connections to storage networks. The modular approach enables you to scale bandwidth incrementally as your needs evolve, making it easier to adapt to changing workloads, peak usage periods, and evolving data-center topologies. This design helps optimize cabling layout and simplifies future expansion while preserving existing investments in switches and fiber infrastructure.
  • Optimized compatibility with HPE FlexNetwork 5510 HI switches — The module is purpose-built to work with the HPE FlexNetwork 5510 HI family, ensuring reliable interoperability with the switch firmware, management tools, and deployment workflows you already rely on. By choosing a module from the same vendor ecosystem, you simplify procurement, minimize compatibility risk, and streamline RMA and support processes. This alignment helps you achieve consistent performance across your network and reduces the complexity of multi-vendor integrations.
  • Ideal for data-center and campus networking needs — The 2-port 40GbE QSFP+ module is well-suited for data center aggregation, high-speed campus networks, and cross-building interconnections where large data transfers and low latency are crucial. It supports scenarios such as server-to-upper-tier switches, storage-area network backplanes, and virtualization-host uplinks, providing the throughput needed for virtual machines, containerized workloads, and data-intensive applications. The compact form factor and plug-in design allow you to deploy these uplinks in tight rack spaces without sacrificing space for other components.
  • Easy integration, management, and upgrade path — This expansion module is designed to fit into existing HPE switch configurations with minimal downtime and straightforward management through familiar tools. Its plug-and-play capability, paired with HPE’s management ecosystem, lets administrators monitor link status, throughput, and reliability from a single interface. By enabling modular upgrades, you can avoid large-scale replacements and extend the life of your current switches while introducing next-generation throughput where it matters most.

How to install HPE 5510 2-port QSFP+ Module

Installing this module is straightforward when you follow best practices for safe handling and system integration. Start by preparing your environment and ensuring you have the appropriate transceivers and cabling for your deployment.

  • Power down the device or confirm hot-swap compatibility per your organization’s maintenance procedures. Use appropriate anti-static precautions and handle the module by its edges to avoid contact with connector ends.
  • Identify the correct expansion slot on the HPE FlexNetwork 5510 HI switch. Remove any protective covers from the slot and inspect for clear access to the backplane connectors.
  • Gently align the QSFP+ module with the slot, ensuring the notch aligns with the slot guides. Insert the module firmly until it seats securely and you hear or feel a definitive click indicating proper engagement.
  • Attach the necessary 40GbE cabling to the QSFP+ ports according to your intended topology. Use compatible transceivers and fiber or copper cabling that match the module’s specifications and the network’s distance requirements.
  • Power on the switch (if you powered down) and verify the module’s recognition in the management interface. Check link status, negotiated speed, and error counters. If remote management or monitoring software is in use, confirm that the new uplinks appear correctly and that alarms are cleared.
  • Run basic connectivity tests to ensure the new uplinks are forwarding traffic as expected. Validate throughput against your performance objectives and document the cabling layout and port assignments for future maintenance.

Frequently asked questions

  • Q: What speeds does this module support? A: The HPE 5510 2-port QSFP+ Module provides two QSFP+ ports capable of up to 40 Gbps per port, for a potential maximum of 80 Gbps aggregated bandwidth when both ports are active and paired with compatible transceivers and cabling.
  • Q: Which devices is it compatible with? A: It is designed for use with HPE FlexNetwork 5510 HI switches. Always confirm compatibility with your exact switch model and firmware version before installation to ensure seamless operation.
  • Q: What cabling and transceivers are required? A: This module uses QSFP+ interfaces and requires appropriate 40GbE transceivers and cables. The specific fiber type (for example, MMF or SMF) and the distance supported depend on the chosen transceivers. Refer to the transceiver specifications and cabling guidelines corresponding to your deployment.
  • Q: Is the module hot-swappable? A: Many enterprise deployments support hot-swapping, but follow your vendor’s maintenance guidelines and the switch’s documentation to determine whether hot-swapping is supported in your environment. If in doubt, power down before installation.
  • Q: How do I verify installation success? A: After installation, check the switch’s management interface for link status on both QSFP+ ports, confirm speed negotiation, and run a basic throughput test. Monitor for any alarms or port errors and consult the vendor’s guidance if issues arise. Keeping firmware up to date can also improve compatibility and performance.

Great dog bones
Flavor Name: Variety Flavored, Size: Small-under 20LBS
My dogs really like these bones. They are a very durable material and easy for the dogs to hold onto while they chew. They are resistant to the chewing and don’t fall apart. They keep my dogs entertained and happy.

NOT for Aggressive Chewers.
Flavor Name: Bacon Flavored, Size: Medium/Large-under 60LBS, Flavor Name: Bacon Flavored, Size: Medium/Large-under 60LBS
I received 2 of these on May 6th and gave 1 to my Golden retriever then gave my Miniature Heeler the second 2 days ago on May 10th. This image is taken on May 12th. It’s too soft to be labeled for Aggressive chewers because with other bones I have previously purchased the bones have been lasting forever. Which has me concerned about how much plastic-like material they’re consuming. I don’t recommend this one for Aggressive or even Moderate chewers.

JoviQ Dog Chew Toys for Aggressive Chewers
Flavor Name: Bacon-2Pcs, Size: Medium/Large-under 60LBS
These dog chews have been some of my dogs favorites for a few weeks now! They've managed to work a whole end off the t-bone already which is a bit surprising, usually these types of bones take them much longer to make that much 'progress' on so I think these are a bit on the softer side as far as plastic bones go! Otherwise they've worked well for my must-chew-everything dogs and haven't caused any problems (I fully expect them to eat small bits of plastic with these but its that or the walls and carpet so..)
