Here for your consideration is a 1979 Martin 000-18 in very good condition! Built in 1979 but the beautifully aged nitro finish gives it the appearance of being much older - tons of character and finish aging but no heavy wear. Body shows a fair amount of general player, surface marks, scratches, and dings, and a few small splits in the grain (1 about 3", another about 2", one on rear about 2"), but they do not affect the structural integrity of the body. Lots of great checking in the nitro finish giving it a nice vintage look. Wood has aged naturally to a nice mellow color. Neck shows a ding behind 2nd fret but it does not affect playability or structural integrity in any way. Neck also shows some very nice checking, has a really nice and comfortable soft V profile, and overall is in very good condition. Headstock shows some light wear and checking but overall is in excellent shape. Fretboard is in excellent condition. Frets show some light wear and some minor divots but have no issues with buzzing or dead spots and have plenty of life left. Original tuning machines have been replaced with Grovers. Pickguard shows some wear but is overall in good condition. Bridge, Saddle, and bridge pins are in great shape. Overall an absolutely gorgeous sounding and playing vintage Martin with tons of mojo and character! Has been fully inspected and set up by our tech and ready for a new home. The 1979 Martin 000-18 is a vintage acoustic guitar known for its balanced articulate tone and comfortable Auditorium-sized body. While later "Reimagined" versions of the 000-18 moved toward pre-war specifications (like scalloped bracing and a wider nut) 1970s models typically feature straight (non-scalloped) bracing which often results in a punchier tighter midrange compared to the bassier response of modern scalloped versions.
