Limited 180 gram vinyl LP pressing. Root Down captures the king of the Hammond B3 organ, Jimmy Smith, playing down and dirty R&B. The album includes two versions (one previously unissued) of Smith's "Root Down," a song covered by the Beastie Boys in 1994. There is also a hypnotic reading of Al Green's pleading "Let's Stay Together," which yet again proves that Jimmy Smith is a man with a lot of soul. Jimmy achieved the rare distinction of releasing a series of instrumental jazz albums that often charted on Billboard. Smith helped popularize the Hammond B-3 electric organ, creating an indelible link between sixties soul and jazz improvisation.

Easy assembly

Super easy assembly, one screw in tree trunk is unscrewed to place bowl and tree together - Phillips screwdriver needed. I bought the silver ring holder which perfectly suits my personality and decorative style. Can't tell you how wonderful it feels to finally have all of my rings off of my desk and stored in an easy to find place! Space saving is high on my list because I currently live in a 28' camper, so do not have my larger jewelry boxes in here with me. It only arrived today (7/28/2019) so this is with only a single days use, but am very pleased with the purchase and value for the ring holder - I was specifically looking for an inexpensive metal ring tree versus a plastic one.

Don’t bother, not worth the $
Much smaller in person than it appears. Looks more like a piece of coral than a tree. I got this to display some ornaments for sale at craft fairs, but it’s so small, it looks silly with the ornaments on it. Super flimsy, made of cheap plastic. Definitely not worth $14. Will be returning.
