The Eaton G3 Metered Input Rack PDU is a purpose-built power distribution solution designed for modern data centers, server rooms, and network closets. It delivers billing-grade accuracy for input and branch circuit metering, providing precise energy data that helps IT teams optimize capacity, balance loads, and manage power more effectively. With a bright local LCD pixel display and optional network connectivity, this 0U metered PDU brings visibility where it’s needed most — at the rack level. In environments where space is at a premium and uptime is critical, Eaton’s G3 metered input PDU combines compact design with robust performance to deliver reliable power distribution, actionable insights, and simple integration into DCIM and monitoring workflows.

  • Billing-grade metering with dual visibility: The PDU’s high-accuracy meter continuously measures input current, line voltage, real power, and total energy. You get precise, billable data to support chargeback, capacity planning, and efficiency initiatives. The local LCD pixel display presents essential metrics in real time, while a network connection (where available) streams readings to your DCIM or monitoring platform for remote visibility and trend analysis.
  • Space-saving 0U form factor with ample outlets: Designed to maximize rack density, this 0U PDU occupies zero vertical space while delivering 30 outlets of type 5-20R. It’s ideal for dense server, storage, and networking enclosures, enabling you to power many devices from a compact power distribution solution without sacrificing cabinet space or airflow.
  • Power and electrical specifications for reliable operation: The unit is built for 120V, single-phase operation with a maximum load of 2.88 kW (24A). The L5-30P input plug supports common data center power configurations, and the 10 ft cord provides flexible routing to nearby power sources, reducing the need for additional power strips and minimizing clutter inside the rack.
  • Balanced outlets and intelligent load management: With 30 outlets, you can distribute devices across circuits to prevent overloads and hotspots. Metering data helps you identify uneven power draw across devices, enabling reallocation of loads and improved thermal management. Remote monitoring features let you set alerts for threshold violations, empowering proactive maintenance and uptime protection.
  • Durable design with straightforward integration: Eaton’s rack PDUs are built for the rigors of data centers and IT closets. The meter, display, and connectors are designed for reliability in challenging environments, and the unit integrates smoothly with standard DCIM tools and energy management workflows. This PDU is a practical, scalable choice for organizations pursuing energy transparency, cost control, and dependable power delivery.

How to Install Eaton Metered Input Rack PDU

  • Prepare the rack: Verify that your cabinet accepts a 0U PDU and that there is adequate clearance for venting and cable management. Inspect rails and mounting hardware to ensure compatibility with your rack system and IT equipment.
  • Mount the PDU: With the 0U form factor, position the PDU so that the input power cord can reach your power source without strain. Secure the unit to the rack rails using the included mounting hardware, ensuring it remains stable and aligned to avoid cable fatigue.
  • Connect the power input: Insert the 10 ft cord into a suitable 120V single-phase power source that matches the L5-30P plug specification. Ensure that the circuit can handle the anticipated load and that breakout or branch circuits are configured to support balanced distribution.
  • Populate outlets: Start connecting IT devices to the 30 outlets (30) 5-20R. Distribute devices across circuits to promote load balancing and reduce the risk of overloading a single branch. Keep high-draw devices on separate outlets where feasible to optimize performance.
  • Power on and verify readings: Turn on the PDU and confirm that the local LCD pixel display powers up and shows current measurements for input, voltage, power, and energy. If network monitoring is enabled, verify that readings appear in your monitoring platform and that data refreshes as expected.
  • Configure monitoring and alerts: Access the PDU’s management interface (via local display or network) to configure metering intervals, thresholds, and alert rules. Integrate with your DCIM or energy management system to enable proactive power management, capacity planning, and reporting.
  • Document and test: Record the PDU’s location, circuit mapping, and outlet assignments for asset management. Run a brief load test to ensure stable performance and confirm that all devices power on correctly and that metering reflects the expected loads.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is a metered input PDU? A metered input PDU provides real-time electrical measurements for the input circuit and each outlet, enabling precise power usage reporting, load balancing, and capacity planning. It supports chargeback and energy-management initiatives by delivering billable and actionable data at the rack level.
  • What outlets are available? This Eaton PDU includes thirty outlets of type 5-20R, suitable for a wide range of IT equipment, including servers, switches, storage enclosures, and network appliances. The distribution is designed to support dense rack deployments while maintaining organized cabling.
  • What is the maximum load? The metered input PDU is rated for up to 2.88 kW (2,880 watts) at 120V, with a continuous current of up to 24A. This makes it well-suited for mixed workloads in small to mid-sized data center racks without overtaxing the branch circuits.
  • Can I monitor the PDU remotely? Yes. The PDU provides a local LCD display for on-site visibility and can be connected to a network to feed readings into DCIM, energy management systems, or other monitoring platforms for remote, centralized oversight.
  • What is the cord length and input configuration? The PDU ships with a 10 ft power cord and uses an L5-30P input plug, compatible with typical 120V single-phase data center power sources. This configuration offers flexibility in cabinet layouts and reduces the need for additional adapters or extensions.
  • Is this PDU suitable for 0U installations? Yes. The 0U form factor is specifically designed to maximize rack space by occupying no vertical height while providing full metered power distribution capabilities in a compact footprint. It’s ideal for dense server environments where every inch of space matters.

Remarkable Quality at that Price!
Flavor Name: Dark Roast, Size: 24 Count (Pack of 1)
Look folks, it’s not Barista Prima or Starbucks, but it’s very inexpensive for what you get. It’s strong and tastes pretty good and will wake you up. What more can you ask for?

Amazon refunded us immediately; we requested credit
Flavor Name: Dark Roast, Size: 100 Count (Pack of 1)
This coffee was great tasting, the aroma was nice, BUT the containers were the problem. Amazon took care of us right away and refunded us; they didn't even want the rest of the coffee pods back or proof of all the ones that burst open in our coffee maker. Here's the only reason we snatched off two stars; the foil tops came loose ( in all the Happy Belly Flavors we purchased) while in our keurig/pod style coffee maker. Grinds were in the cups of coffee and all over the inside of our coffee maker. We decided to try to not waste the coffee after Amazon said to keep or throw away the faulty product, so we, one by one open and pour the Happy Belly ground coffee(s) into a 12 cup coffee maker basket when we have lots of coffee to prepare. The coffee itself is delicious and fresh, but something's wrong with the packaging's foil pod tops on all the types of Happy Belly we bought. Too bad, because it's good coffee, priced at a bargain, it's just too bad the pods are falling apart messy.

Delicious coffee. Had a fabulous price
Flavor Name: Dark Roast, Size: 100 Count (Pack of 1)
I've used several different coffees over the past 12 months, including french press. I find these pods every bit is good or better than the other coffees at 3:00 or four times the cost

Bananas from Amazon! Yes!
During a recent surprise deep freeze on the way, I tried to find bananas and couldn't find them any where and decided just to check on Amazon and there they were! Bananas! I was so happy! And they were good! I have almost gave them a 4 star instead of a 5 star because I usually like to get my bananas a little bit on the slightly still green place so they were last several day. But Amazon didn't know that. They were very fresh and a great value for the money! They were in good condition! I was so pleased! And I would not hesitate to order fruit from Amazon again. They tasted great! Fresh bananas from Amazon! Who would have thought it!
