Return of the Silkie, 1983's third chapter in the as-yet unfinished saga of the nomadic West Coast harpist, Carol Kleyn, offers a slice of the wild and free utopian dream that changed so many lives in the '60s and '70s. Pure and simple, harp and vocals, accompanied only by scatting's of harbor seals and sea lions, this loosely woven concept album includes gentle reminders that life is short-take it in while you can-and, along the way, try to preserve the magnificence of this world for the next generation. Sentiments and music as hauntingly true today as the day they were first sung and recorded. Carol's lyrics close with: "there's a storm over paradise and it's we who decide... just how long we shall live... or when we shall die...". The instrumental that follows, and closes this album, reiterates that message with the cries of sea lions in the background, as the "Silkie" returns, perhaps by choice, to her underwater origins. Thirty years later, Carol resides on an island in Puget Sound, where she walks amongst the eagles and the sea lions, and is guided by the beauty and the changes she observes along that beach, in the sky and on a distant Mt. Rainier. Her children now grown, Carol's focus-her music and her performance-return to issues regarding global warming, pollution and the politics interconnected to those perils. Of greatest concern to her today, is that the heat wave we're now experiencing has only just begun. That being said, there will be, without a doubt, new songs and recordings to follow. This 2013 reissue marks the debut of Carol's third album, Return of the Silkie in the digital format, along with newly released photos in the CD booklet and LP insert. The vinyl format is represented by a remastered, newly-pressed LP, packaged in the original album jackets and recently signed, with love, from Carol to you. As George Winston once wrote to her: "I enjoy the new album. I like it the best, just you and harp."

Soft yet supportive

I have been through 4 other pillows in the last year trying to find one that supports but isn't too firm.
I gave this one a shot and am really loving it. It's soft, comfortable, supports without hurting my neck or shoulder. I am short so some pillows are too high for me. I'm mainly a siide sleeper, this pillow is great as I can place my head anywhere not just middle of very end like the other pillows I was trying. I can sink into it a little yet still have support and it doesn't crush down.
It comes with more filler but haven't needed it. I put it in the dryer on ultra delicate when I first got it and it fluffed nicely.
Very happy with this product as I am now getting more sleep.

Absolutely in love with this pillow!

I’m so excited about this purchase — this pillow turned out to be amazing! I’m a side sleeper most of the time, and the way the edges are designed makes it incredibly comfortable and supportive. What really surprised me is that even when I slept on my back (which I normally don’t like), I felt super comfortable. I actually woke up still lying on my back — and that never happens! I know it’s healthier to sleep that way, so I’m really happy about that and hope it becomes a new habit.
Before this, I tried a few regular memory foam pillows, but they always felt too firm and my neck would get tired. This one, with the shredded memory foam, is so soft and cozy — it molds perfectly without feeling lumpy. The King size is perfect too — my little Pomeranian loves to rest his tiny head next to mine on the pillow. I don’t know why he does that, but it’s adorable.
And I have to mention the packaging — the box was so high-quality and beautifully made that I just couldn’t throw it away. I’m definitely keeping it to store something in.
Overall, I’m super happy with this pillow and will be ordering a second one soon. I only got one to test it out, but now I’m totally convinced. Thank you for such an awesome product!

This is Truly the Best Pillow!

This is the side sleeper version of the best pillow out there.
My 26 year old son was always complaining about his pillow and his neck and back hurting. About every year I’d buy him the next “best” pillow promising to be the best but they never worked for him. I read an article saying THIS pillow was the “Goldilocks” of pillows. So since he sleeps in all positions, I got him the regular shaped pillow. The next morning after his first night with the pillow, he came out of his room talking about how wonderful his pillow is. Same thing the next morning. And the next. And the next. Then I thought to myself, my current pillow is the best I’ve had but I’m not in love with it. But I’m a side sleeper so I purchased this particular contoured pillow for me. NOW I UNDERSTOOD WHAT MY SON WAS TALKING ABOUT. I became the person who went on and on about my pillow. Until my husband told me to replace his with one of these side sleeping versions for himself. And he loves it. Then we got a regular pillow (for those who sleep in all positions, but this same company) for our guests. My best friend came to visit, immediately noticed the pillow upgrade from previous visits and when she returned home, she purchased one for herself.
This pillow is like a feather pillow except it is filled with tiny squares of memory foam. And it comes with an extra pack of stuffing, so you can add or remove stuffing to customize it perfectly for you. None of us in the house added filling, and my son removed some that came with his pillow. I also sleep with a body pillow and have for years. And I was wishing this came in a body pillow version until I realized I could make my own. I bought a zippered body pillow case. The larger size. I think it was 54 inches long. And I bought a king size pillow and used the extra stuffing pack that came with that pillow along with the 4 packs that came with the other pillows that we didn’t use. Though you could probably do the same thing with two standard size pillows. These pillows are on the expensive side but they go on sale during every holiday. That’s when I purchase them. Oh and my body pillow is HEAVEN. Between that and the pillow, I spend my nights in fluffy cloud goodness.
