Designed for extreme weather resistance, the SM52-EZ-WX is an economical solution for integrators who need a surface-mount outdoor speaker option for music and paging applications. The speaker incorporates a dedicated 5.25 inch polypropylene woofer and an offset 1 inch soft dome tweeter with waveguide to deliver superb intelligibility for background to foreground music and messaging (up to 100.0 dB max. SPL). SoundTube's proprietary BroadBeam Ring™ technology in all models ensures high intelligibility, even well off-axis. The SM-EZ-WX speakers are Weather Extreme with an IP65 rating, meaning the speakers are dust-tight and will withstand water jets aimed directly at them when installed with the included port plugs. With its 32 watt transformer and 6 position tap switch, the SM52-EZ offers 25.5 V, 70.7 V and 100 V operation with an 8 ohm bypass. Inputs are made via ceramic terminal strips, making these speakers suitable for European voice evacuation systems. The SM52-EZ-WX contains a powder coated aluminum grille and mounting hardware, a safety cable, wall mount bracket, conduit connector, and port hole plug. IP-Rating: IP65.
*Note: If used indoors, remove the grille and take the plug out of the port for greater bass output. Port must remain plugged to maintain IP65 rating in outdoor use.
