The intuitive web based management

Meet the TRENDnet TEG-284WS, a high-performance 28-Port Gigabit Web Smart Switch designed to streamline network management while delivering enterprise-grade features at a small-to-medium business price point. With 24 dedicated Gigabit ports and 4 shared Gigabit ports (RJ-45/SFP), this switch gives you flexible uplink options and scalable connectivity for desktops, servers, storage devices, and wireless access points. The intuitive web-based management interface makes configuration straightforward for IT teams of any size, while TRENDNET HIVE cloud management provides centralized oversight for multiple devices across locations. The TEG-284WS blends powerful features such as VLAN segmentation, QoS for application-aware traffic prioritization, LACP for link aggregation, and IPv6 readiness to future-proof the network—so you can optimize performance, security, and reliability without complicating administration.

  • The TRENDnet TEG-284WS features an easy-to-use web-based management interface that empowers network admins to configure VLANs, QoS policies, port settings, and monitoring tools visually. This interface reduces the time spent on routine tasks and troubleshooting by presenting clear dashboards, real-time port activity, and centralized control. When combined with TRENDNET HIVE cloud management, IT teams gain remote visibility across devices and sites, automated firmware updates, and centralized backup of configurations, enabling rapid scale as the network grows. This makes the TEG-284WS ideal for small offices expanding into distributed branches while maintaining consistent policy enforcement and simplified maintenance.
  • VLAN segmentation and QoS are built into the switch to enforce smart traffic separation and priority handling. Segment sensitive business applications onto dedicated VLANs to minimize broadcast domains and reduce latency. QoS capabilities allow prioritization of voice, video conferencing, and critical data traffic, ensuring bandwidth is allocated to high-value services during peak periods. The result is improved performance for latency-sensitive workloads and a smoother user experience for end users, even as device counts rise or bandwidth demand fluctuates.
  • Flexible port configuration with 24 x Gigabit RJ-45 ports plus 4 x Shared Gigabit RJ-45/SFP ports delivers adaptable uplink options. You can connect to fiber via SFP uplinks for longer distances or leverage copper RJ-45 connections to nearby devices. The “shared” ports can be allocated to either copper or SFP, giving you the ability to mix copper and fiber as your network topology evolves. This flexibility is perfect for consolidating access, stacking, or creating resilient uplinks to core switches without purchasing additional modules.
  • Link Aggregation and network resilience are supported through LACP, enabling you to combine multiple physical links into a single logical path. LACP boosts throughput and provides redundancy so that a single link failure does not interrupt critical traffic. This is especially valuable in environments with heavy file transfers, data backups, or virtualized workloads, where sustained throughput and uptime matter. The TEG-284WS makes it straightforward to design active-active or active-passive uplink configurations, aligning with best practices for scalable, fault-tolerant networks.
  • IPv6 readiness and Lifetime Protection provide long-term value. The switch supports IPv6 addressing and management features, future-proofing your network as IPv4 addresses become increasingly scarce and as devices and platforms migrate to IPv6. Lifetime Protection from TRENDnet assures ongoing hardware support and software updates, helping you secure investments as technology evolves and your network requirements change. This combination of modern protocol support and durable warranty makes the TEG-284WS a reliable cornerstone for growing networks that demand stability and longevity.

How to install TRENDnet TEG-284WS

Setting up the TRENDnet TEG-284WS is a straightforward process designed to minimize downtime and complexity. Start by placing the switch in a suitable location—either on a desktop rack or mounting in a compatible rack enclosure. Ensure adequate ventilation and a stable power source to prevent thermal or power-related issues. Before connecting devices, power on the switch and prepare a management computer with a standard web browser for initial configuration. Connect the management computer to any accessible Ethernet port on the switch using an Ethernet cable. Once you have connectivity, access the switch’s web-based management interface to begin configuration. The initial setup typically involves assigning a management IP address (or enabling DHCP), configuring administrative credentials, and securing access with strong authentication. From there, you can configure VLANs to segment traffic, enable QoS policies to prioritize critical applications, and set up LACP on uplinks for redundancy and increased throughput. If you plan to deploy mult-site management, you can integrate TRENDNET HIVE cloud management to centralize monitoring, firmware updates, and backup configurations from a single pane of glass. After VLANs, QoS, and LACP are configured, verify port-level settings, monitor link status, and test connectivity with representative workloads. Finally, save the configuration and document the settings for future reference. For ongoing maintenance, keep the device firmware up to date through HIVE or the management interface to ensure security patches, feature enhancements, and stability improvements are applied promptly.

Beautiful Gold Finish, sturdy base.
Color: Warm Gold
Beautiful! Cleans up well and doesn’t retain water marks. Sturdy, stays in place…can tear with one hand without the need to hold the base. So glad I chose this one over others on the market. Nice solid finish…should last a long time.

Super Efficient & Pretty
Color: Warm Gold
It really is a perfect color of gold. It was super easy to use because each paper towel tears off easily. The bottom stays stable and doesn’t lean over when you tear off the sheet.

Thorough and careful research but I do disagree on some points
Format: Paperback
Review for 'When Giants Were Upon the Earth". As a Christian Bible reader of many years, I was not sure what I was getting myself into by buying and reading this book. ( I do have other books that are not part of the Bible such as Mr. Godawa mentions for reference.) Mr. Godawa has made careful and thorough research on the subject of the Nephilim which is only briefly mentioned in the Bible. He has broadened my understanding of little known facts about the giants and the pagan beliefs of other cultures. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased that a Hollywood screenwriter would do justice to the teachings of God. I do disagree with him about his ideas about satan - I believe he is an individual spirit being and the leader of the other angels that revolted in Heaven. In the New Testament we note that he is ruler of this world John 12:31, he transforms himself into an angel of light II Cor 11:14 and he is also a roaring lion 1 Peter 5:8. I am not totally finished with this book yet but I am hoping that there is information on Nimrod. I would recommend this book for Christian readers who want Bible information 'fleshed out' and explained and about the sons of God, the Nephilim etc.
