The pieces begin on a blank canvas of organza and are then embroidered by hand with a mix of cotton, silk and metal threads. The embroidered panels are affixed to brass with sterling silver posts and backs and accented lightly with pearls, sapphires or an old-world style crystal called a Polki.
The pieces are identifiably of India, utilizing the unmistakable embroidery traditions of the region while also feeling contemporary and approachable, combining Aditi's old-world influences along with the airy imprint of her California home.
