Freya Najade takes us on a journey through the uncontainable wildness of the Hackney Marshes; an explosion of nature in the heart of the city, where ancient trees and grasslands are overlooked by tower blocks and pylons. Following the meadows and riverbanks, abandoned infrastructure and football pitches, Najade documents the magic of these overgrown spaces and the people who seek refuge there.

Freya Najade is a photographer living and working in London and Hamburg. Freya’s work has been exhibited internationally and published widely in The Guardian, Le Monde and the British Journal of Photography, among others. Freya is the also the author of Along the Hackney Canal, published by Hoxton Mini Press in 2016.

Purchased the “cropped” length. I am 5ft 3.5 inch. Weight 170lbs (42 inch hip/38 inch waist) normally wear a size 10/12 or 31 in jeans, depending on the brand. I ordered up at 14 for these based on other reviewers. (When held up to other jeans they were the same as a Talbots 10 at the waist) Prewash they felt good, a little big& length hit at the top of my foot. After wash and dry, the fit was almost perfect and the length was at lower ankle. Ordering up is probably the right choice, although I think I could have been comfortable in a 12 (with no drying). They are a tad bit too long for a “cropped” look IMO. The wide leg is a true wide leg and falls straight from the waist. The material is heavy and there is almost no give/stretch - so a traditional denim. This is the dark blue and it is a true dark blue. You can’t beat the price, excellent value.
