Each oval platter is handbuilt using dark beige specked stoneware and fired to 1200 degrees Celsius making them durable, strong and unique. Prior to firing, a rosette motif is handcarved into the clay and then colored by hand. The rosette is one of the oldest motifs found in the textile arts.

The ‘rosette’ is one of the oldest motifs found in the textile arts. There are different versions of this flower motif in Palestinian embroidery (Tatreez). This stemmed flower motif is typical of the Hebron (الخليل) area, one of the oldest continuously inhabited regions of Palestine,  and indeed, the world. Located about twenty miles south of Jerusalem, Hebron (الخليل) is known for its hilly landscape, renowned for vineyards and grapes. It remains one of the areas richest in cultural traditions and heritage.

Dishwasher and microwave safe, hand wash recommended.

Hand-built using dark beige speckled stoneware and coated with three layers of transparent, lead free glaze, making it 100% food safe.
