This music is hard. Not in the sense of machismo or of complexity or of book- smarts or even tunelessness (there's melodies for days), but in the sense that you will come into contact with great pain. The shape of the world as it is now and has been

I am currently reading this book. I am a specialist in political science, history, Latin American studies and an "old guy" now, born just post-WWII. This is in a long life of study and research and living in three countries--US my birth country and two very different Latin American countries, just for context. I can simply and unreservedly say that this is one of the most important books I have ever read. Not only interesting to read for any caring person, but absolutely requisite.
