Available in a bead-blasted stainless silver, or black, triple black (grey), red, white or blue powder coat finish!** The R 1200 GS has been updated with the new R 1250 GS, and a new bike requires new protection, so AltRider has updated the crash bars for the new R 1250 GS models. The crash bars utilize 1.25 inch (31.75 mm) O.D. stainless steel tubing making them the largest diameter bars on the market. The decision to increase the diameter came from years of research and production results. The West Coast BMW Off-Road Training School has been outfitting their bikes with AltRider gear for the past three years. This real world testing yielded much insight on how much damage large bikes can do during crashes. 1 inch bars (25.4 mm) allow a significant amount of flex during a crash, creating the need to space them farther from the bike. The stout 1.25 inch (31.75 mm) bars allow a tighter profile while still providing real protection. Available in a bead-blasted stainless silver, or black, triple black (grey), red, white or blue powder coat finish, they're extremely resistant to rust whether you’re riding the liquid cooled GS across the highway or across a river.
The top of the bars are secured in a total of three locations per side. The front mount is the only one on the market designed to utilize two bolts per side to increase the ability to distribute the load of any impact. The rear is held with a custom machined through-bolt that replaces the engine mount hardware -- increasing strength of the bars up to 25%. AltRider offers one of only a few designs that utilize a custom machined through-bolt. There are no plastic spacers to break upon impact. This creates an incredibly strong design that distributes any impact evenly throughout the bars, and also makes a solid foundation for upper crash bars. Another first for AltRider crash bars are the integrated 3/16 inch (4.76 mm) lower flanges designed to interface with an AltRider skid plate. This creates a modular protection system that doesn’t mount directly to the motor and is substantially more robust than anything else on the market. Other bars are fabricated by crimping then welding joints, creating a forced fit with a weak bond. In this method, gaps are created which are later filled with weld. The additional heat causes warpage and all-too-common installation difficulties. All AltRider joints are 5-axis laser cut, creating a perfect union before the bars are hand TIG welded in a jig. This process creates a precision fit, easy installation and superior strength. Using only the best manufacturing techniques means all AtlRider motorcycle accessories are of the highest quality, ensuring the best protection for your adventure bike. Installation is simple and straightforward. All necessary hardware, including a difficult to find T55 bit, is provided with the bars. Combine with the AltRider Cylinder Head Guards for complete cylinder head protection that crash bars alone cannot provide.

Worthless Dog Toy

Buyer beware! This item is worthless - if I could rate it -5*, I would. It was delivered this morning and was destroyed literally within 10 minutes. The squeaker was punctured and two of the crinkle legs were stripped by my Shichon.

Fun for a few minutes but beware!

I have 3 dogs so looking for multipacks of the same style toy is great so there is less squabbling between who gets what toy.
I have a border collie puppy, a 4 yr old Irish wolfhound cross and a 17 yr old border collie. These toys were loved by each one of my dogs.
The toys are floppy and easy to squeak in the octopus head. So much so that my elderly boy could happily play and make it squeak. He even collected the toys up and took them to his bed!
My puppy ran off bounding through the house squeaking the octopus' head with the tentacle-legs flying everywhere as she ran around, so the entertainment value is pretty high!
My Irish wolfhound loved the crinkling on the tentacles of the octopus and went straight for tearing into the orange toy pulling out the plastic, then pulling out the squeaker. The toy did ok with a game of tuggy (tug-o-war) with him and this toy would have been a great reward during a training session.
The fabric is not very tough so this is not a toy for aggressive chewers. Legs were easily chewed off and unfortunately were ingested by one of my dogs which caused them to vomit repeatedly throughout the night. Same with the squeaker, they are thin, soft plastic. So if your dog is a voracious chewer, give these a miss.
What I liked about these toys:
1. They were reasonably priced for 3 toys
2. These are not small toys! They are great for medium and large dogs.
3. Very fun for the dogs to play with.
4. No stuffing to clean up
What I didn't like:
1. Toys are not durable for tough tuggers.
2. The toys are not reinforced for chewing.
3. Squeaker not strong enough.
The toys just didn't last. There was maybe 15 minutes of play time at most before the chewing and destruction of the toys really got started.
I might buy these again if I can give my puppy better supervision for her chewing these and trying to stop her from ingesting the pieces she is chewing off put I probably won't buy them again. There's too much plastic that can be eaten with the crinkly plastic in the legs.

Easily torn apart but still fun

This is not the toy for your dog is they like to rip them apart. That being, my sister’s dog loved these as his gift. He did tear them apart pretty easily but he enjoyed every moment of it and they were his comfort toy for at least 3 months. The colors are great, the size is perfect for tug-o-war and tossing around. The squeaking noise is loud and grab the dog’s attention easily. My sister’s dog is a corgi mix so he went ham on playing with these.

Will buy again!!!

I bought a set of these toys for my 30 lb black labs (mixed breed). They are normally very aggressive chewers, and as a result, these dogs are difficult to find toys for. They destroy pretty much everything except for those very strong rubber toys which are not as much fun for them to play with. So far, these toys have lasted us 2 days and counting which is quite an accomplishment considering their soft toys typically last about 10 min. or so before they start eating the stuffing and pull the squeakers out. Between the plastic noises from the tenticles and the squeakers my dogs have just been having the time of their lives. We have to confiscate them at bedtime so we can sleep! Even though I'm positive these toys will not hold up for much longer because of their chewing habits, it was worth the money to splurge on something fun for them to get so excited to play with. I intend to replace them occasionally as long as we continue getting at least a couple days of use out of them. If your dogs are less aggressive chewers then you should definitely give this toy a try!
