The Eastern Fells

The Eastern Fells includes the greatest single concentrated mass of high ground in Lakeland: a tremendous barrier running north and south, high and steep all along its length, rising to above 3000 feet on Helvellyn – the most-often climbed mountain in the Lake District. Popular resorts such as Ambleside and Grasmere lie in this sector of the fells, as does the beautiful Patterdale valley (the best base, in Wainwright's view, for exploring the area)

The Far Eastern Fells

A Lakeland Fellranger walking guide by Mark Richards exploring 33 summits in the Far Eastern Fells of the Lake District, including a wide range of walks old and new, between Pooley Bridge to the north and Windermere to the south. Among the summits featured are Hallin Fell and Place Fell on the shores of Ullswater, Kidsty Pike above Haweswater and the fells of the famous Kentmere horseshoe to the south. Author Mark Richards combines his passion for the Lake District and artistic flair with all the information the experienced walker needs to explore and enjoy the Far Eastern fells. For each of the 33 hills covered, this guide offers a dedicated chapter, with full descriptions of a range of both undiscovered and time-honoured routes, full-colour Harvey maps and clear elevation diagrams, detailed summit panoramas and plenty of inspiring photographs. This guide is the last to be published in Cicerone's 8-volume Lakeland Fellranger series, which provides a comprehensive new guide to the fells of the English Lake District, with a selection of new routes up more than 220 hills.

The Central Fells

The Central Fells of the Lake District include treasures such as the ever-popular Langdale Pikes, the supremely lovely foothills overlooking Borrowdale and the 'silent forests and gaunt crags' above the dark waters of Thirlmere. For walkers heading in this direction, and lovers of the Lakeland fells, this is the guide to take.

The Sothern Fells

The Southern Fells include the highest, roughest, grandest fells in Lakeland including the highest mountain in England, Scafell Pike. Wainwright – a fell-walking legend in his own lifetime – knew the terrain and conveyed its grandeur and beauty like nobody else. In this unique Pictorial Guide, he writes of the glorious curves and simple grandeur of Great Langdale; of Wasdale, 'an emerald amongst sombre hills'; of enchanting Borrowdale; of the sparkling radiance of the Duddon; and of the most delectable valley of all – Eskdale, 'sanctuary of peace and solitude'.

The North Western Fells

The North Western Fells are bounded by the River Derwent and the River Cocker – an area lauded by A. Wainwright as first-class fell-walking territory. The ridge walking here is some of the finest in the Lake District, offering views of unsurpassed beauty. There is something for all walkers: steep, high mountains such as Grasmoor, rugged individualists such as Castle Crag, and destinations such as Catbells, which Wainwright calls 'a family fell where grandmothers and infants can climb the heights together, a place beloved'.

The Western Fells

The Western Fells lie within a wide sector, driving deep into the heart of Lakeland at Sty Head. They are bounded in the north-west by the Cocker valley, 'jewelled by the lovely lakes of Buttermere and Crummock Water'. South-west their boundary is Wasdale, running towards the sea.

The Northern Fells

The Northern Fells include the rolling Caldbeck and Uldale Fells – 'serene and restful, a perfect sanctuary for birds and animals and fell-walkers who prefer to be away from the crowds'; Skiddaw – 'an affable, friendly giant'; majestic Blencathra – 'the mountaineer's mountain'; Latrigg – the favourite of visitors to Keswick – and many more. They offer the walker excellent tramping and exhilarating freedom to wander at will.

A sports romance debut that tugs on heartstrings!
Format: Kindle
“Unsteady” follows hockey captain Rhys Koteskiy and spitfire figure skater Sadie Brown after they enter a purely physical relationship to help them heal from their respective traumas. Their arrangement is meant to be temporary, but the more time they spend together, the harder they begin to fall. I had been wanting to read this book for quite some time and was not expecting it to get me all up in my feels! Both characters have their own struggles that the other comforts them through. At the novel’s start, Rhys is recovering from a traumatic brain injury he suffered on the ice. I appreciated how seriously Sadie took Rhys’ situation and helped him through his panic attacks (mainly with music) while fighting her own demons. Despite the walls she puts up to distance herself from him, Rhys sees through her anger. He stole my heart with how in tune he became to Sadie’s needs and the way he stepped in to take care of her and her brothers after he learned of their living situation. The pining and protectiveness had me swooning. While the friends with benefits trope isn’t my favorite, I adored watching their relationship transform from one of shared trauma to shared love. Their opposite personalities truly complement each other perfectly!

AMAZING Debut Hockey Romance!
T R O P E S 🏒 College Hockey/Figure Skating Romance 🏒 Cinnamon Roll MMC/Black Cat FMC 🏒 He Falls First 🏒 Friends to Friends With Benefits to Lovers 🏒 Found Family 🏒 Mental Health Rep R E V I E W I’m sorry. Excuse me. WHAT? How is this Peyton’s debut novel?! This book had NO BUSINESS being this good. IMMEDIATELY it is in the top 5 books I’ve read this year, and I’ve read nearly 125 books. I was blown away by how good this was and cannot recommend it enough. This book follows Sadie, a figure skater who has a hard home life but is determined to succeed this year, and Rhys, the captain of the hockey team who took a hard hit in last year’s Frozen Four and is now struggling with getting back on the ice. These two are some of the BEST MCs I’ve read in a while! Sadie has so much going on, between her skating career, working 3 jobs, trying to get custody of her two younger brothers from their alcoholic dad, and school in general, this girl is stretched thin, but she is a power house - small but mighty. I loved her spitfire character! She is so guarded, but understandably so. I loved seeing her icy exterior melt for Rhys. And RHYS. I think he might be my favorite Rhys to date 👀 . He is the perfect Cinnamon Roll, but he’s also going through PTSD from a terrible hit and struggling. He becomes so obsessed with her and honestly, I’m a little jealous. (Let’s not forget about the mouth on this man though 🥵 .) I LOVED them as a pair and the angst and tension between them was spectacular! I love how they pushed each other and how well they matched. The spice between them was perfection as well! This was such a good blend of character development, plot, and spice. I also have to discuss the amazing side characters. First of all, Sadie’s brothers are the stars of this show. Liam was the cutest thing on this planet and I just wanted to give Oliver a hug (but won’t because he doesn’t want to be touched). The way Rhys interacts with them and the whole storyline with them made me bawl. It was soooo good. Then we have Rhys’ family! His parents are magnificent and I need to know more about their story! And lastly, we cannot forget Rhys’ team. I cannot wait for more books about each and every one of them. They were all introduced so well and I KNOW there are going to be some fantastic stories told about them. I’m going to need this to be a series with all of the hockey teammates (Toren and Bennett both have me eyeing them up and I needed their books YESTERDAY). I’m also going to need a prequel novel about Rhys’ parents AND a next gen spinoff with Sadie’s younger brothers. This book is going to be a trophy I buy for my shelf so I can reread it and I will definitely be reading anything and everything Peyton writes in the future! The mental health rep in this book was chefs kiss. We saw them both struggling with their thoughts and emotions, saw them using each other for comfort, and saw them both getting true help. I loved that Rhys recognized he was using her as a crutch and sought therapy. We need more mental health rep that is done like this! Honestly, I cannot recommend this book enough. It had me laughing, blushing, and full on crying so many times. There was so much emotion, care, and love packed into this book. BRAVO Peyton on writing such a magnificent debut novel!

Love. Such a beautiful story!
Format: Kindle
Rhys and Sadie Gray meet at a point in their lives where they really need each other. Their initial impressions of each other are not that great and they start off on the wrong skates. These two are both struggling with their own issues and each carries their own stress differently. Rhys struggles with the aftermath of a traumatic injury while playing hockey. Sadie struggles with the weight of responsibility. Their story is not unique, but in this genre it's the first time I've read a story like this and it did not disappoint. It's such a beautiful story about love and staying steadfast in your conviction to stand by the person you love even when they don't think they deserve it and push back. The love Rhys has is unmatched and it reminded me of Johnny from Boys of Tommen. The author did an incredible job and I can't wait to read more from her.

Unsteady Review
Format: Kindle
This was my first book by the author and it did not disappoint. I loved how real and relatable the main characters were. From the mental health journeys they go on, and the things they deal with in their life. I felt like I could be their friend. I didn't want this book to end it was so good. It made me feel all the things: happy, sad, it made me laugh. And above all the representation of friendship in this was great! Will definitely read more of the author's books!
