Melanie hasn’t had a good year. Her work life isn’t what she dreamed it would be, her best friend has moved to the other side of the world, and Finn, the man she was sure was the love of her life, dumped her. In front of everyone. At his sister’s engagement party.
So when Finn shows up at Mel’s doorstep two weeks before Christmas, asking if she’ll help him, her first instinct is to slam the door in his face—or punch him.
But he has a proposal for her: Spend the week of Christmas with him and his family in a vacation cottage in the Scottish Highlands. His mother is obsessed with the idea of a perfect Christmas—and to make this dream come true Finn told his mother that he and Mel are dating again. All Mel has to do is come with him and pretend they’re back together.
Mel may hate Finn, but she loves his mom. So she agrees—on one condition. At the end of the week, Finn will allow Mel to publicly dump him so that she can get her dignity back and he can experience the same humiliation she felt.
It’s only a week. Mel can pretend to still be in love with Finn for one week, surely. Except as the festivities bring her closer than ever to Finn and his family, Mel starts to lose track of which feelings are fake and which are for real.

Asurion "Assures" nothing!
Asurion has terrible Customer Support. All machine based. They give you no phone # for human interaction. Their online Support process is very close-ended. It is a checklist designed to frustrate purchasers whose issue lies outside only the very issue.
My issue: I bought "Cuisinart TOB-40FR Custom Classic Toaster Oven Broiler, Silver (Renewed)" on May 26, 2024. It stated it had a 90 day warranty. So I bought an Asurion Protection Plan also to cover it for 3 years. The toaster started flaking off metal finish inside the oven over the cooking area. I tried to file a claim with Asurion and they told me the Manufacturers warranty was still in effect and I should contact Cuisinart. This despite the oven was sold with a Amazon Renewed verbiage stating a 90 day warranty.
And they have nothing on their "Machine Checklist" to cover this eventuality. And I would assume I am not the only one who takes the "Renewed" route and backs it up with a "Protection Plan".
They will frustrate you no end. I suspect, like many insurances, they seek to deny, deny, deny, in hopes the purchaser will give up.

GIFT CARD AS REPLACEMENT, NO CHOICE OF CHECK OR REPLACEMENT. GOOD COMPANY
PROS:
* A decent company, responsive and fair.
* Allows you to buy items from anywhere you want, and buy the warranty at Amazon.
* Provides better coverage than other warranties, and covers more, including breakage!
CON:
They don't send you a check in order to buy wherever you want, send a replacement, or give you a choice. Instead, they send you an Amazon Gift Card. That's OK if you're a big Amazon shopper, but sometimes, you can get a better price elsewhere.
