Memory Master: Strengthen Executive Functioning Skills with Fun and Games

Unlock the power of executive functioning development with Memory Master, a fun, printable digital download that can be used on a computer or tablet. This engaging game is not only entertaining but also serves as a cognitive remedial tool that strengthens vital executive functioning skills. Ideal for students with ADHD, learning disabilities, and executive functioning disorders, this game also benefits individuals recovering from head injuries and older adults looking to maintain cognitive health.

Why Memory Master is the Ultimate Executive Functioning Game

Memory Master is designed to exercise key executive functioning skills through an interactive and hands-on approach. By engaging in this game, players will:

  • Strengthen Working Memory: Players must recall and sequence a series of directives, enhancing their ability to hold and manipulate information.
  • Improve Attention to Detail: By focusing on specific instructions, students sharpen their ability to notice and retain details.
  • Boost Mental Stamina: The game’s multi-step tasks encourage players to sustain attention over time, helping to build mental endurance.
  • Enhance Response Inhibition: Players practice self-regulation by controlling impulsive reactions and focusing on the task at hand.
  • Develop Cognitive Flexibility: Memory Master challenges players to mentally shift between different tasks, improving their ability to adapt to new situations.

How to Play Memory Master

Memory Master can be played with one to four players and is easy to set up for home or classroom use. Here’s how it works:

  1. Players pick a card from the deck.
  2. The administrator reads the directives on the card aloud.
  3. Players follow a "say it, see it, show it" method:
    • Say it: Players repeat the directives to encode them into memory.
    • See it: Players visualize the directives, adding sensory details.
    • Show it: Players act out the directives to reinforce their memory.
  4. After a short distraction, players recall and perform the actions they were directed to remember.

This multi-sensory approach taps into auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learning, helping players to retain information more effectively.

Who Benefits from Memory Master?

Memory Master is perfect for:

  • Students with ADHD: This game helps improve focus, attention, and working memory, addressing common challenges faced by students with ADHD.
  • Individuals with Learning Disabilities: Memory Master supports those with dyslexia or processing disorders by providing a structured approach to developing memory and cognitive skills.
  • Executive Functioning Disorder: For those struggling with planning, organizing, and completing tasks, this game offers a fun way to practice and improve these skills.
  • Head-Injured Individuals and the Elderly: Memory Master can be used as a therapeutic tool to help rehabilitate cognitive functions or maintain brain health in aging populations.

Memory Master: Boosting Brain Power Through Fun

Research suggests that children aren’t born with fully developed executive functioning skills, but they have the potential to build them through deliberate practice. Memory Master exercises these skills in a fun, engaging way, akin to how going to the gym strengthens muscles. According to the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University, opportunities to develop executive function skills provide lifelong benefits, including improved learning, positive behavior, and healthier choices.

How Dopamine Enhances Learning in Memory Master

Playing Memory Master releases dopamine, a neurotransmitter that makes learning enjoyable and boosts several cognitive functions:

  • Motivation: Dopamine triggers pleasure, motivating players to continue engaging in the game. Repeating tasks with enjoyment leads to more effective learning.
  • Working Memory: Dopamine enhances working memory, enabling players to encode information into long-term memory more efficiently.
  • Spatial Learning and Memory: The game promotes spatial memory, allowing players to better visualize and remember their surroundings.
  • Episodic Memory: Memory Master also stimulates episodic memory, helping players recall personal experiences and past events.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

A good read
Format: Kindle
A good read, just fluffy cuteness, no antagonism. I like all the characters. It could have used another round of editing however, glanfds being one error that cracked me up, and my personal pet peeve was that the author kept using the word fill instead of feel, which I promise you are not interchangeable haha, but it's definitely better than the majority of books I read on here mistake-wise.

amazing
Format: Kindle
Knot the Bride was a fantastic read! The characters were all amazing and well-developed. It was easy to like them all. Sophia, Luca, Nick, and Gavin were all perfect for each other. It was such a charming story that had me hooked the entire time. I did wish there were POVs from Luca, Nick, and Gavin but it was still an amazing book without it. I am excited to read the next book in the Willowside Omegaverse series! This is definitely a must-read for fans of omegaverse romance!. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

3 Star Read,
Format: Kindle
This book wasn't bad, but wasn't my cup of tea. It's highly disappointing because the storyline is so original. There is no real conflict or resolution, so the entire thing feels flat. As a lover of omegaverse books, I know there is a ton of variety out there, and ov is really up to the author. But this one is weird. Omegas have multiple scent glands all over their bodies and go into week long heats every month. Alphas have knots in the middle of their shaft instead of the base, and the knot doesn't always swell, no explanation of when or why. It doesn't engage at all when the mouth is in play. I also didn't enjoy the author's writing style. Each paragraph is only 1 or 2 sentences long, and the entire book reads very stacato. The conversations are stiff and unnatural feeling. Everything is very repetitive, both in word choice and in thought. The same thing is repeated 3 or 4 times over a single page, multiple times over. I ended up doing so much skimming. The first 50% of the book is all slow burn, and the last 50% is almost straight mediocre spice. This wouldn't have been all bad if the grammar and spelling errors didn't start at the exact same time. Tongue is repeatedly misspelled in the middle of the spice.
