Protect your network investment with Cisco SMARTnet Solution Support — Extended Service. This base bundle is designed to maximize system uptime and simplify budgeting by delivering a predictable, enterprise-grade support experience. With 8 x 5 coverage and Next Business Day exchange for parts, both physical and electronic support capabilities are included to keep your Cisco-powered environment operating smoothly. Whether you’re maintaining core routing, switching, data center, or collaboration infrastructure, this service provides the dependable expertise and fast response you need to minimize downtime, accelerate issue resolution, and maintain peak performance across your ecosystem.

  • Comprehensive uptime protection: The Extended Service is built around an 8x5 support window with Next Business Day (NBD) exchange. This combination ensures that hardware restoration or replacement occurs quickly within standard business hours, reducing the length of outages and helping you keep mission-critical services available for your users and customers, even during peak demand periods.
  • Predictable budgeting and cost control: By consolidating hardware and support into a single extended service contract, your total cost of ownership becomes more predictable. This makes it easier to forecast annual IT expenses, justify investments, and avoid surprise maintenance charges that can disrupt quarterly plans while preserving access to Cisco’s trusted service network.
  • Fast, reliable hardware exchanges: When a covered device encounters an issue, you benefit from Next Business Day exchange. This means a replacement component or device is dispatched promptly so you can restore service with minimal disruption. The fast turnaround is especially valuable for critical network devices where delays can ripple across multiple sites and affect end users and business operations.
  • Comprehensive parts and electronic support: The base bundle covers physical parts necessary for repair or replacement, as well as electronic support resources. You gain access to Cisco’s extensive knowledge base, software and firmware updates where applicable, and remote troubleshooting guidance to help your IT team diagnose and resolve issues efficiently, often without on-site visits.
  • Peace of mind from a trusted vendor ecosystem: Cisco SMARTnet has long been a benchmark for enterprise service quality. The Extended Service delivers a dependable, scalable support framework that aligns with enterprise IT policies, security standards, and service-level expectations. This means your network can evolve with confidence, backed by a proven provider known for consistent performance and timely responses.

How to Install Cisco SMARTnet Solution Support - Extended Service - Service x 5g Base Bund

Unlike a software license or hardware deployment, installing SMARTnet Extended Service is an activation and enrollment process rather than a physical installation. The steps below describe how to enable coverage and ensure your devices are properly tied to the contract so you can leverage fast responses whenever an issue arises.

  • Verify eligibility and obtain contract details: Work with your Cisco account representative or authorized reseller to confirm that your devices qualify for SMARTnet Extended Service and to secure the service contract for the 5g base bundle. Have your device identifiers ready, along with the intended service term and any site-specific coverage requirements.
  • Gather product identifiers: Collect the UPC or SKU for each device or chassis that will be covered by the Extended Service. This information is essential for linking your hardware to the service entitlement in the Cisco Support Portal or the reseller’s service management system.
  • Activate on the Cisco Support Portal or reseller system: The activation process typically involves entering the UPC/SKU details, associating them with the service contract, and designating the devices to receive coverage. Your account team will guide you through the portal steps and confirm that the entitlements are properly provisioned.
  • Coordinate with your IT team: Inform network engineers about the service activation so they know to route any support requests through the designated channels. Establish a preferred contact path for urgent issues and ensure escalation contacts are up to date.
  • Test the service flow: After activation, submit a test service request to verify that coverage is correctly applied and that Next Business Day exchange is triggered as expected. This step helps avoid delays when a real incident occurs and provides confidence in the activation process.

Frequently asked questions

  • What devices are covered by the Cisco SMARTnet Extended Service - Service x 5g Base Bund? Coverage typically applies to eligible Cisco hardware under the service contract, including routers, switches, and related infrastructure components. The exact devices and terms are defined in your contract and on the portal, and eligibility may vary by model and purchase date.
  • What does 8 x 5 x Next Business Day mean? The 8x5 coverage refers to eight hours per day, five days per week of technical support availability. Next Business Day exchange means that, if a covered device requires replacement parts or a unit, Cisco will ship these parts or a replacement device to your location to arrive by the next business day after the service request is approved, subject to availability and geographic constraints.
  • What is included in physical parts vs. electronic support? Physical parts refer to tangible components shipped to your site for replacement. Electronic support encompasses remote assistance, access to Cisco technical resources, firmware/software updates where applicable, and guidance from engineers to diagnose and resolve issues without on-site visits.

Service requests are typically submitted through the Cisco Support Portal or your authorized reseller’s service management system. You’ll need your device identifiers (UPC/SKU) and the contract details. The portal will guide you through the escalation path, required information, and expected response times according to the 8x5 and NBD terms.
  • Can I upgrade or extend my SMARTnet coverage after purchase? Upgrading or extending SMARTnet coverage is generally possible through your Cisco account team or reseller. They can advise on available term lengths, bundle options, and whether additional devices can be added to the same contract for centralized management and consistent service levels.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.

Slightly repetitive but I did love some things
Format: Kindle
I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.
