The ridges that you see featured are inspired by the actual ridge lines of the Wasatch Mountains, the range that runs adjacent to Salt Lake City, Utah. Each of these vases is hand thrown and trimmed on the potter's wheel. After a few days of drying, they are carved with mountains, and then put in the kiln. Each of these vases is hand thrown and trimmed on the potter's wheel. After a few days of drying, they are carved with mountains, and then put in the kiln. They are then glazed using a combination of dipping and brushing techniques. The vases are fired to over 2000°. After they have cooled, a thin layer of gold luster is painted on and they go into the kiln for one final firing.
These vases are a truly unique piece of mountain decor.
