  • controls that should be applied to reduce the risk associated with slips and trips.

This course has been reviewed by a recognised subject matter expert.

What are slips and trips?

Slips occur due to poor traction between a person's feet and a walking surface. Examples of poor traction leading to slips include inappropriate footwear, or sudden changes in the amount of traction provided by floor surfaces.

Trips occur when a person unexpectedly catches their foot on an object or surface causing them to lose their balance.

Exposure to slips and trips

You may be exposed to slips when performing work involving:

  • slippery, wet, oily or loose surfaces
  • sloping surfaces, and
  • spills and contaminants, such as liquids or dust.

You may be exposed to trips when working where there are:

  • damaged floor coverings, such as wrinkled or lifted floor coverings or stair treads
  • loose, unanchored rugs or mats
  • holes or cracks in flooring
  • loads that obstruct vision
  • obstacles in walkways, such as cables, equipment or boxes, and
  • uneven floor or walking surfaces.

A Certificate of Completion is issued on successful completion of the course and you are required to get an 80% pass mark to be deemed as understanding the content. It is recommended that training is conducted every 2 years to stay refreshed.

                      Great for a Pitball
                      Pattern Name: Octopus
I have a Pitbull and she absolutely loves this toy. I always wait a while before giving a review. She has had this toy Since the beginning of July and she is still playing with this toy. It does have little holes but it is still going. She loves it. Playing tug of war with her. I also take it and wrap it around her collar and watch her dance around trying to get it out(I don't leave it there long). This a great buy. I also bought and extra one so when this one does finally dies she will have another. The material is strong, The sound is about normal for a squeaky toy.

                      Fun Resilient Chew Toy
                      Pattern Name: Octopus
I have a boxer/pit mix and she loves this! I bought it 4 months ago and it’s still going strong so I know it’s quality made and perfect for dogs that like to chew and play tug of war. It has been chew resistant for my girl and she loves the little squeak. I just throw it in the washer when I wash her bed. Great value and a safe toy that’s a good size for a medium to large dog.

Rating a 3 because the dog loves it, but definitely not "indestructible". Had a tear in one leg the first day and this is 4 days later. Leg is off and stuffing is out. 6 months old, 35 lbs. It was worth a shot. You get what you pay for.

My 80 lb American bulldog and staffy mix absolutely LIVES this little octopus. He literally destroys everything but NOT the octopus, lol. It is well made and has lasted months which is a huge deal. Great buy
