These stories span half the 20th century. After a rather humble start, the author went on to a bright, eventful life. A Wimmera-country boy, born in the 1920s, found ways to get ahead, despite the Great Depression and World War II, and went on to realise his dream of becoming a veterinarian. Family love and encouragement, together with enduring friendships, played a big part in his journey. It led on to Melbourne Grammar, Sydney University, marriage, family and an interesting, productive career, including 30 years in Australia's Northern Territory and work in five other continents. In 1957, he rose to a challenge and moved from Australia's deep south to the far north. A young veterinarian, he answered a call to tackle a serious animal disease problem. Crocodiles in the bathtub were part of the family's introduction to Darwin. Interesting characters and humorous incidents that filled his workplace are captured in the book. New nature conservation projects were embraced. He found ways to awaken the slumbering Top End giant from its economic torpor. It was a time of rapid change. Frustration with remote (Canberra) control of N.T. affairs prompted a move into politics, becoming known as "Father of Self Government". He looks towards the Territory's future. This is an autobiography with a difference. Janis Letts

I Am Not Alone
Format: Paperback
Three cheers for FINE: a comic about gender! Heartwarming, life-saving stories about living outside the boy/girl boxes. What a relief to see myself reflected in these pages and have tangible proof that I am not the only one. Thank you, Rhea Ewing!

I have no words to succinctly describe how it feels to read this…
Format: Kindle
A lot of the questions and some of the thoughts shared in this mirror my own journey into exploring queerness in my life. It feels so validating. Thank you for creating this book, Rhea!
