  • Handcrafted by local artisan, Alan Winick, this tide clock has the image of Sankaty Head Light and the ocean tide that rises and falls as the actual tide in your location goes from high to low.
    • The Sankaty Head Light is a lighthouse located on Nantucket island.
    • It was built in 1850, was automated in 1965, and is still in operation.
    • It is located at the easternmost point of the island, in the village of Siasconset.
    • It was one of the first lighthouses in the United States to receive a Fresnel lens.
    • The shoals off the eastern coast of Nantucket had a long history as a hazard to navigation.
    • The United States government decided in the 1840s that a prominent lighthouse should be erected to alert mariners to that hazard.
    • Congress appropriated $12,000 for its construction in 1848, with additional funds totaling $8,000 in following years.
    • The light went into service in February 1850.
    • The tower is 60 feet (18 m) high; its lower portion is constructed of brick, and its upper part is granite.
    • The light's turning mechanism was powered by a weight-driven brass clockwork,
    • A brick house was built next to the tower at the time of its construction to house the light keeper's family.
    • In 1887 this house was torn down and a new structure was built.
    • Renovations to the tower at the time included installation of a new lantern section, adding some 10 feet (3.0 m) to its height.
    • In 1933 the light was electrified, and the mechanical works to turn it were taken out of service.
    • Its original lens was removed in 1950, and is now at the Nantucket Whaling Museum.
    • The light was fully automated in 1965.
    • In 1987, the lighthouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Sankaty Head Light.
    • The 'Sconset Trust acquired the lighthouse in 2007, and had it moved away from the eroding bluff (approximately 400 feet (120 m)) in October of that year.
  • Tide clock has a blue wood frame with dual faced clock.
  • Bottom of clock provides the traditional tide clock showing current tide. Dial provides hours to high tide and to low tide.
  • Top of clock is what makes this time piece truly unique.  A mechanically animated display of the waterline of Long Island Sound rises and falls as the tide goes from high to low.
  • Clock measures 11-1/2-in H x 6-3/4-in W x 2-in D
  • Can be displayed free standing or on a wall.
  • Construction: Wood frame, plastic, paper and metal housing.
  • Uses one AA battery - not included.
  • Ships in a gift box with instructions.
  • Artisan limited warranty: 3 years

Cute but disappointing
Color: C-Navy+Oak, Color: C-Navy+Oak
One of my dogs love these however they are far from indestructible. Two days after giving the teddy to him, the tail of the teddy is off and there is a rip by one of the arms. They are very cute teddies but not for heavy chewers as they will only last a few days.

Nothing is indestructible
Color: D-Purple
Adorable. Looks just like the photo. My 15# JRT loves it! however the tail and one ear were gone in a matter of minutes. It’s his toy so I’m just monitoring his time with it as it’s his favorite 😍

Our Pit Bull’s Favorite Toy!
Color: A-Navy, Color: A-Navy
We absolutely love this MAXBECK bear toy! We’ve ordered it 4 times over the last 8 months because our senior pit bull is obsessed with his “babies.” He always has one close to him and even cuddles with them. The material is very sturdy and holds up amazingly well even with rough play. My dog’s favorite part is the squeaker. What I love most is that even after he finally tears into it, the rope built inside becomes a whole second toy for him and keeps the fun going. If you have a heavy chewer who destroys toys quickly, this one is definitely worth trying!

Not indestructible
Color: C-Navy+Oak, Color: C-Navy+Oak
I assume it is probably hard to create an indestructible product, but my puppy had it apart in no time.

NOT DURABLE, LONG-LASTING, OR USEFUL
Color: A-Navy, Color: A-Navy
I gave this dog toy 2-stars based on my dog toy rating system (DTRS) for “Albert” the Blue Bear! Safety (1-rating): Albert fell apart after 4-hours of use. 1. The ears were chewed off and I was only able to find one of them, which means my dog swallowed the other ear. Very big concern as it depends on how big your dog is to pass this object. The ear is about the size of 1.5-quarters. 2. The tail was almost chewed off entirely and was hanging on by a thread before I threw it out. 3. After the ears came off, the inside foam started to come out, which raised my concern for my dog’s saftey. 4. The entire body was soft and did not cause any harm to teeth, gums, paws, nose, etc. Durability (3-rating): 1. The ears and tail are the weakest parts of Albert as they can easily be chewed off. 2. The body is durable enough to sustain 4-hours of use, as I threw Albert out after the ears and tail were torn off within 4-hours. 3. The small squeaker inside Albert’s belly was broken after 15-minutes of use. Thank Goodness! 4. My next concern was how long the arms and legs would last; TBD! Squeaker (1-rating): 1. Small plastic squeaker, the size of a half-dollar, with a high pitched noise. Fatality (2-rating): 1. Albert was put to rest after 4-hours of use as I was concerned for the safety of my dog with continued use. 2. If Albert didn’t come with ears or a tail, I can only imagine how long he would’ve survived as the material seemed to be durable enough to withstand continued use. In conclusion, “Albert” the Blue Bear is not worth the money for a toy that falls apart after 4-hrs of use and with the concerns of safety. I was surprised that it was only 8-inches tall, next time I’ll confirm the size of the toy before I purchase the next one. About my dog “Cannoli” for comparison: Breed: Blue Healer / Lab mix Weight: 40-lbs Energy Level: High Age: 7-months Chew Rating: Aggressive
