The HPE 1.60 TB Solid State Drive is engineered for enterprise-grade performance and dependable data storage in demanding data centers. This 2.5" internal SAS SSD delivers fast access to mission-critical files, databases, virtual machines, and large-scale backups while maintaining strong reliability and data integrity. Designed to integrate seamlessly with standard server and storage backplanes, it helps IT teams scale capacity without sacrificing latency or throughput. Whether you’re consolidating workloads, accelerating virtualization, or expanding a high-availability storage environment, this SSD is built to deliver consistent results day after day.

  • Capacity and performance at a glance: 1.6 TB of high-speed SSD storage capable of handling mixed enterprise workloads. With rapid read and write performance, it reduces I/O bottlenecks, accelerates application response times, and supports dense virtual environments where latency matters as much as capacity.

  • 2.5" form factor for versatile deployment: The universally compatible 2.5" drive size makes it easy to drop into mainstream servers, arrays, and storage enclosures. Its compact footprint supports hot-swapping and streamlined maintenance, enabling quick upgrades without major downtime.

  • SAS 12Gb/s interface for high throughput: The drive is engineered to harness the speed and reliability of the SAS 12Gb/s backbone, delivering sustained bandwidth and low-latency data access. This makes it ideal for data-intensive tasks such as transactional databases, ERP systems, and real-time analytics.

  • Enterprise-grade reliability for mission-critical workloads: Built to endure the demands of data centers, this SSD features robust error correction, wear leveling, and data-protection mechanisms. It maintains data integrity under heavy load and fluctuating power conditions, helping you meet service-level agreements with confidence.

  • Energy efficiency and long-term operational savings: Designed to minimize idle power and thermal output, the drive supports efficient cooling in densely populated racks. Lower energy consumption translates to reduced operating costs while delivering sustained performance for long-term data center deployments.

Technical Details of HPE 1.60 TB Solid State Drive – 2.5" Internal – SAS (12Gb/s SAS)

How to install HPE 1.60 TB Solid State Drive

Power down the system and follow proper electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions before handling the drive. Identify an available 2.5" drive bay or drive tray in your server or storage chassis, ensuring compatibility with SAS backplanes. Remove any existing drive or tray, then insert the HPE SSD into the tray and secure it with screws or release mechanisms as required by your enclosure. Slide or seat the tray into the drive bay, making sure the connector aligns with the backplane. Connect the SAS data cable and the appropriate power connector to the drive backplane or controller. Power on the system and enter the server BIOS or RAID controller interface to recognize the new drive. Initialize and configure the drive according to your deployment plan, then format it within the operating system or storage software, and begin utilizing the newly added capacity. If you are expanding a RAID array, follow your RAID management procedures to extend or rebuild the array as needed, ensuring data redundancy and protection are maintained throughout the process.

For best results, verify firmware compatibility and update to the latest firmware released by HPE or your server/chassis vendor prior to installation. Maintain standard data protection practices, including regular backups and adherence to change-management procedures, to maximize data availability and minimize risk during upgrades or maintenance.

Vader may be Down, but he is far, far from out.
Format: Paperback
I have been consistently pleased with the Darth Vader and Star Wars comic series, and the Vader Down crossover kicks it up to 11. It is easy, watching the movies, to forget how powerful Vader truly is. Anakin Skywalker was a prophesied Jedi Hero, or phenomenal raw talent. In only a few years he outclassed Jedi Knights who had been training two or three times as long as he had, but in the Original Trilogy, we have very few glimpses of that power. Not so in Vader Down. I won't spoil it, but let's just say Darth Vader has an impressive kill count. Within the lightsaber duels, fire fights, and interstellar dog fights, Vader Down (And the rest of the Darth Vader series) still finds time to build, if not sympathy, at least understanding for Darth Vader as a character. He is still a villain, but you find yourself rooting for his success more often than not. Overall, a phenomenal read. I cannot recommend it enough.

Surprisingly Great Story!
Format: Kindle
This TPB takes place right after the events of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Darth Vader comes out of hyperspace in his lone TIE Interceptor nose to nose with 2 squadrons of Rebel X Wings. Excellent action sequences ensue. This is my first acquaintance with the Star Wars Universe in Marvel comics (apart from the 80's books) and if Vader Down is an accurate representation of the quality of work, it's comparable to the fantastic job Marvel did on Stephen King's Dark Tower prequels. This was also my first digital purchase of any comic for my Kindle. While having a hard copy of the comic would be a lot preferable, the $3.99 purchase price was a bargain to own the story.

Sooooo good!
Format: Kindle
I love how this book is set between the first two original movies. Vader is just amazing and Doctor Aphra is one of those characters I have fell in love with. I honestly felt like I was reading a scene from a movie. Such an amazing book.

Good, but violent - parent discretion advised
Format: Paperback
I got this because of great reviews and because I am a huge Star Wars fan. First thing, this is not for younger readers as it is extremely violent. But overall I found it highly enjoyable. The artwork is fantastic. Vader is a total bad###. The only part I didn't like, and the reason I'm taking off a star, is there was one character who (trying not to reveal any spoilers here) is essentially a mash-up of two other characters from the Star Wars saga...like somebody's kid popped the head off of one action figure and stuck it on another and the author saw that and said, hey, that would be the perfect plot twist for this story. Nevertheless, it was a fun read and I recommend it to fans of Star Wars and Darth Vader in particular.
