He would return home for a few moments to freshen up and then would often venture out into the foothills about sunset. One night Rebecca decided to follow along. She stayed a ways behind him so that he would not know that she was there, but the Savior always knows. As she followed ever so quietly the sun set and a full moon filled the night sky. As a young girl Rebecca used to watch the Savior each day as he came from teaching. He would return home for a few moments to freshen up and then would often venture out into the foothills about sunset. One night Rebecca decided to follow along.

She stayed a ways behind him so that he would not know that she was there, but the Savior always knows. As she followed ever so quietly the sun set and a full moon filled the night sky.

Even at her young age Rebecca recognized that there was something different about the light that night.

At first she thought that it was the magical qualities of a close bright full moon. However; as the evening wore on it became apparent that it was something else; it was more than just light it was a feeling as well that captured the night.

Then she realized that it was because she was following the Saviour, walking in his light that made all of the difference. It had given her the opportunity to prepare for the question that the Savior would ask her only moments later.

There; as the Savior approached his favorite tree on the outskirts of the city he turned to Rebecca and asked “Why hast thou ventured from the city at such an hour”? Her reply was It began as an adventure to follow you and now; I want you to teach me how to walk in thy light”.
