Before they could do that, they first needed to recreate the assembly lines and learn how to build it. A special team of Zeiss employees, under Soviet direction, were assembled in Saalfeld and built an unknown number of these Jena Contaxes as a proof of concept. --- Jena Contax II with matching Sonnar T 2/5cm 3093803 all in fine and working condition. --- B+ --- 1947 --- 18259 --- Die Jena Contax wurde von Carl Zeiss Jena in Saalfeld unter Leitung der sowjetischen Besatzungsbehörden nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg gefertigt. In den letzten Kriegsjahren hatte die Sowjetunion die Zeiss-Ikon Contax als Reparationsgut ins Auge gefasst und plante, in Kiew eine eigene Version dieser hochwertigen Kamera zu produzieren. Bevor dies möglich war, mussten jedoch zunächst die Produktionslinien rekonstruiert und das Know-how für den Zusammenbau der Kamera erworben werden. Zu diesem Zweck wurde in Saalfeld ein spezielles Team von Zeiss-Mitarbeitern unter sowjetischer Anleitung zusammengestellt, das eine unbekannte Anzahl dieser Jena-Contax herstellte ? als Machbarkeitsnachweis und technische Grundlage für die spätere Produktion der Kiev-Kameras. --- Jena Contax II mit passendem Sonnar T 2/5cm 3093803, in sehr gutem und funktionierendem Zustand.
