The APC by Schneider Electric Rack Air Removal Unit SX Ducting Kit delivers focused, efficient cooling for Netshelter SX and VX enclosures. Designed to mount on the rear of the cabinet, this kit extends your rack height to 42U, 47U, or 48U while preserving valuable front-face space for your critical servers, storage, and networking gear. Its innovative, user-friendly design enables fast installation by almost anyone, helping data centers and office server rooms optimize airflow, improve cooling performance, and reduce energy use without sacrificing space or accessibility.

  • Rear-mount versatility for Netshelter SX/VX enclosures – This ducting kit is purpose-built to attach securely to the rear of APC Netshelter SX and VX enclosures, integrating seamlessly with your existing rack system. By mounting at the back, you gain available front-side real estate for high-density equipment while maintaining a clean, organized cabinet interior. The design supports a flexible range of rack heights, enabling precise alignment with 42U, 47U, or 48U configurations to match your current deployment and future growth.
  • Space-saving, front-face preservation – Because the cooling infrastructure is positioned at the rear, front panel space remains unobstructed for server blades, storage shelves, and patch panels. This layout simplifies cable management, improves accessibility for maintenance, and reduces the need for overcrowding inside the enclosure. The result is better air distribution, easier hot-aisle containment, and a neater, more professional data center footprint.
  • Fast and intuitive installation – The SX Ducting Kit is engineered for quick, straightforward installation, minimizing downtime and enabling non-specialist personnel to complete setup with confidence. The modular frame and clearly labeled mounting points streamline assembly, while standardized hardware and documented steps help ensure a reliable installation that aligns with APC’s rigorous design standards.
  • Efficient airflow with variable-speed fans – At the heart of the kit is a cooling path that actively draws hot air from the enclosure and directs it through a controlled ducting system. The inclusion of variable-speed fans allows precise control of airflow to match the thermal load, optimizing cooling performance while reducing energy consumption. This dynamic cooling strategy helps prevent hot spots, supports more uniform temperatures across equipment, and can contribute to lower operating costs over time.
  • Durable construction and reliable performance – Built to withstand the rigors of data center environments, the ducting kit uses robust materials and tight tolerances to maintain airflow efficiency over time. The rear-mount framework is designed for stability, reducing vibration and noise while preserving the enclosure’s structural integrity. This combination of durability and thoughtful design ensures long-term reliability even in high-availability deployments.

How to Install APC Rack Air Removal Unit SX Ducting Kit

  • Gather the required mounting hardware and verify compatibility with your Netshelter SX or VX enclosure. Ensure the enclosure is de-energized and available for service to prevent any safety hazards during installation.
  • Position the ducting kit at the rear of the enclosure, aligning mounting holes with the appropriate rails or brackets. Use the supplied screws and brackets to secure the frame firmly to the back of the cabinet, taking care to avoid overtightening that could deform mounting points.
  • Attach the ducting components to create a sealed, direct airflow path from the enclosure interior to the external ducting run. Confirm seals at all joints to minimize air leakage and maximize cooling efficiency. If optional accessories are included, integrate them according to the installation guide to tailor airflow for your specific rack layout.
  • Connect the fans and power supply as specified in the installation instructions. Configure the variable-speed controls to balance airflow with the thermal load inside the rack, then test operation to confirm steady airflow through the ducting path and out of the rear of the enclosure.
  • Perform a startup test by loading representative equipment into the enclosure and monitoring inlet and outlet temperatures. Fine-tune fan speeds as needed to maintain stable temperatures across critical components while maintaining acceptable noise levels and energy use. Confirm that the rack remains accessible for routine maintenance and that cable routes remain clear of ducting and moving parts.
  • Document the installation for future maintenance, including rack height (42U/47U/48U), mounting points used, ducting path configuration, and fan speed settings. Establish a routine to periodically inspect seals, fasteners, and airflow integrity to sustain optimal cooling performance over time.

Don’t Pass On This One! Get Every Color!
Color: Black, Size: X-Large, Color: Black, Size: X-Large
I always brace myself when purchasing clothing off the internet because size recommendations don’t always hold true. I’m glad I flowed my mind and bought an XL instead of the recommended XXL. It fits perfectly. The quality was better than I expected and the neckline was a perfect height and the size was just right (my neck is a 19”). The cost was better than what’s offered in stores. The stretch material adds to the comfort and it’s lightweight; which makes it perfect for those that are hot alot…like me. (I’m 5’10”/ 260lbs / usually a XXL)

Takes a Licking and Keeps on Ticking
Color: Green/Black
I love this watch despite the fact that it is really a toy. I love the look of the watch, I love how lite the weight of the watch is on my wrist, and it really does keep good time if you manage the solar charge properly. Other than looking cool on your wrist, this watch has absolutely no functions other than time keeping. The black plastic bezel is molded into the case and does not turn, so don't plan on using that. The watch has no light, the dial numbers are non-luminous and the hands are very limited in terms of luminosity. No buttons. All you can do is adjust the time and date by pulling out what used to be a winding stem in the good old days. The small tag on the strap with Geographic coordinates shown on it indicate the location of the old Timex manufacturing facility (SW of Waterbury, CT). I have a nice ledge at my bedroom window and it gets good western sun for a good part of the day regardless of the time of year. On this ledge you will find a half dozen solar powered watches (mostly Casio) properly aligned to maximize the charge they may receive each day. Note that the description for this Timex watch specifically states that a lightbulb won't charge this watch. You need direct sunlight for several hours if you want to get more than a 3-week charge into this watch. So, I'll leave you with a couple of tips, my friends; 1.) If you are looking for a first watch to give your outdoorsy oriented Son or Daughter, then give them this one. Why? Because it is cool looking, fairly well built, and it actually works, 2.) After you receive your Timex watch, be sure to keep the display mount it is packaged with. It makes a great fixture to mount your watch on for charging and allows you to maximize the position of the solar cells on the dial so that you can optimize charging time. Have Fun! Jimmy

Excellent value, flawless performance for well over a year and no signs of quitting.
Color: Green/Black
Excellent value, had this for well over a year and it still keeps perfect time, still water resistant. No worries about having to change batteries. Owned a fancy expensive (battery) watch once and the dept. store repair intentionally sabotaged the watch in the hopes I would purchase another from them. Yeah, good luck with that, lost my business forever. This is the 21st century, cell phones are the new time pieces, but solar is totally reliable and Timex makes it happen. Holds a charge for many months, although I prop it in a bright window for a few days every few months or so just to make sure the cells are always fully charged, although it's probably unnecessary, just being over cautious. I haven't actually experienced this watch ever running out of power even after months of use. Damn impressive, as it should be.
