With Moroccan pigments and Vietnamese paints, Mazzucco’s pieces are characterised by the juxtaposition between wildlife and cultural photography, this incredible piece forms part of his introspective collection Grass Roots 2023. “Paraíso (Paradise)” tells a story in layers. The overlaying of photography, paint, handwriting, and resin adds life into the composition, creating a statement original. The pops of colour added sporadically throughout the composition create the spontaneous dynamic that this wildlife piece represents. The use of different images sizes and its repetition create the intrinsic depth, characteristic of Mazzucco’s originals.

This collection is part of “Grass Roots”, still containing sepia and earthy tones but introducing a new colour palette to Mazzucco’s existing style. The extension of colours is referent to the vibrant colourful pieces with the Amazon scenes, introducing a new exotic colour palette as opposed to the beauty of Africa in sepia tones. By embarking on immersive trips, Mazzucco is able to evoke the cultural beauty and the natural colours of the environments he is in, capturing moments in time and living landscapes. The mesmerising photography has come from Kenya in Africa and the Amazon Forest on the Rio Negro in Brazil.
