A key detail is the “110 Jahre” neck label, which links the shirt to Borussia Dortmund’s 110th anniversary in 2019. That is why the design differs from the regular home and away shirts from the same season. Instead of a standard stripe or block layout, Puma used a split-style composition with a dark graphic upper and bright yellow lower half. The geometric pattern across the black area is one of the defining visual features of this release.
The shirt is made with Puma dryCELL technology, designed for moisture management and breathability. It uses lightweight polyester and a modern performance cut, with mesh-style construction typical of late-2010s Puma match shirts. The large yellow lower panel and darker upper section also make it one of the more recognizable Dortmund shirts from that period.
The Haaland 17 print is period-correct for the second half of the 2019/20 season, as Erling Haaland joined Borussia Dortmund in January 2020 and wore number 17.
