Demonstrating his sensibility for storytelling, Point Blank is a notably observant series of eight works that reads like a glimpse into Bob Dylan’s visual journal. 

The collection is infused with a distinct spontaneity, as if capturing fleeting moments or memories. Bob Dylan draws us close with his intimate representations of subjects that appear to stem from a lived perspective, finding poetic resonance in the details.  

We see introspective musicians and idyllic bridges – the choice of subjects adding to the series’ intense emotional quality. As the viewer, we are invited in to inhabit these spaces Dylan depicts, provoking our imagination to contemplate the protagonists and scenes within his art.     

Based on ‘quick studies’ created between 2021 and 2022, the original drawings were then painted over with vibrant colours and expressive brushwork.
