Candidates are required to build on their personal knowledge and skills between the training and assessment courses, guided by an individual action plan provided during the training course debrief.
The Rope Rescue Specialist (RRS) formerly known as the Rope Rescue Technician Advanced (RRTA) is designed for rope rescue team members who have already completed a comprehensive basic training and now want to specialise. This training continues where the Rope Rescue Technician (RRT) course finishes. The RRS course examines advanced technical solutions. It extends on the knowledge picked up from the RRT including the use of advanced artificial high directional and its various configurations of steep, diagonal, and horizontal spans, the use of multiple track lines in highline operations, industrial lead climbing, loads and forces, incident management and scenario training. This training is consistent with NFPA 1670 and 1006 standards for technician level.
