Sunrises, lightning, sunsets and the night sky were captured using his back-to-front painting technique, whereby he paints in oil on the opposite side of the glass before scratching out the paint to add detail.
Richard adds: “It’s the crossover from where the twilight has left me – it’s the next part of the day. Looking up is where I am heading.” When painting each artwork, Richard listens to a specific song, which is detailed below.
