Accortec 150 GB M.2 2280 SATA SSD (SATA/600) — Internal Solid State Drive

Introducing the Accortec 150 GB Solid State Drive — a compact, power-efficient storage upgrade designed to breathe new life into older laptops and desktops, while delivering the speed and reliability modern workflows demand. Built as an M.2 2280 internal SSD with a SATA interface (SATA/600), this drive seamlessly slides into compatible systems to accelerate boot times, shorten application load periods, and provide dependable storage for operating systems, essential programs, and lightweight data sets. With a focus on energy efficiency and robustness, the Accortec 150 GB SSD is an economical yet high-value upgrade that makes everyday computing smoother, quieter, and more responsive. For budget-conscious builders, refurbishers, or anyone needing a practical storage boost, this drive offers a smart balance of form factor, compatibility, and performance in a compact package.

  • Ultra-compact M.2 2280 form factor with a SATA interface (SATA/600) that makes it broadly compatible with a wide range of desktops and laptops. This design ensures an easy upgrade path for systems that support SATA-based M.2 drives, including older machines that may not be ready for newer NVMe options. The slim footprint helps preserve internal space while still delivering solid flash storage performance, making it an ideal choice for OS drives or secondary cache in compact builds.
  • Energy-efficient operation and robust reliability are at the core of this Accortec SSD. Solid-state design means no moving parts, producing less heat and reduced power consumption compared with traditional hard drives. The result is quieter operation, longer device lifespan, and improved battery life for laptops, enabling longer unplugged usage between charges while maintaining dependable performance for everyday tasks, multitasking, and routine data access.
  • Fast, silent performance with immediate impact on system responsiveness. By replacing a spinning hard drive or slow boot partition, you’ll notice quicker system startup, faster application launches, and snappier file access. The absence of mechanical components means less vibration and noise, while the SSD’s flash memory delivers consistent read/write access for smoother multitasking, quicker OS updates, and more responsive software environments.
  • Easy installation and flexible deployment across multiple use cases. The Accortec 150 GB SSD can serve as a primary OS drive on systems that support M.2 SATA slots, a fast scratch disk for creative software, or a compact boot and cache drive in older hardware. Its small size and straightforward SATA connection simplify upgrades for tech enthusiasts, IT departments, and everyday users seeking a straightforward performance boost without a major revamp of the system.
  • Excellent value for budget-conscious upgrades and refurbishing projects. With a 150 GB capacity, this drive is well-suited to lightweight operating systems, essential applications, and critical system files, offering an affordable entry point into SSD technology. It pairs well with larger drives for data storage, enabling an efficient split between OS and data, and is particularly appealing for upgrading older machines that lack modern NVMe support but still require improved OS boot times and application responsiveness.

How to install Accortec 150 GB Solid State Drive

  • Power down the computer, unplug it, and discharge any static electricity. Ground yourself and the work area to prevent electrostatic discharge from damaging sensitive components.
  • Open the computer case or laptop service panel to access the internal components and locate the M.2 slot that supports SATA (SATA/600) drives.
  • Hold the drive at a slight angle (about 30 degrees) and align the edge connector with the M.2 slot. Gently insert the SSD into the slot until it’s seated firmly and evenly.
  • Secure the drive using the mounting screw provided with the motherboard or the system’s service kit. Ensure the screw is snug but not overtightened to avoid damage.
  • Reconnect power, boot the system, and enter the BIOS/UEFI to confirm the drive is detected. Then format and partition the drive within your operating system and, if desired, clone your existing OS or data to the new drive for a seamless transition.

Frequently asked questions

  • Q: What type of interface does this SSD use? A: It uses a SATA interface (SATA/600) in an M.2 2280 form factor, not PCIe/NVMe.
  • Q: Can I use this drive as a boot drive? A: Yes, in systems that support M.2 SATA drives; you can install an operating system on it or clone an OS partition to it and boot from it, subject to BIOS/UEFI support.
  • Q: Is 150 GB enough for an operating system and essential software? A: It can host a lightweight OS and core applications, but storage headroom is limited. For more space, consider pairing with a larger secondary drive or using it as an OS/cache drive in a dual-drive setup.
  • Q: Will this drive fit my system’s M.2 slot? A: It fits systems with an M.2 slot that supports SATA drives (not all M.2 slots support SATA; some require NVMe). Verify compatibility in your motherboard or laptop specifications.
  • Q: Does the product include installation hardware or warranty details? A: Warranty specifics and included hardware vary by seller and listing. Check the product page or vendor documentation for exact warranty terms and whether mounting screws are included.

Have to use the USB Receiver on the Front of Your PC
Size: One Size
This is a great mouse as long as you plug the little USB receiver into the front of your pc and not the back. Plugged into a front port, and the thing just flew, smooth as silk. I moved the receiver to a port on the back, and it got choppy, would freeze, and was really slow.

Excellent mouse and more!
Size: One Size
The Logitech M510 wireless mouse is a very comfortable and smoothly performing mouse. It is a full size mouse that nicely fills up the palm of the hand. The weight of the mouse is "just right". The mouse body is symmetrical so that will be equally comfortable for left or right handed people. The mouse movement and scroll wheel work perfectly smoothly with no jump or jitter. The mouse optical performance is very robust on poor surfaces. It works equally well on a mousepad, a bare table, on a pants leg, back of a book, even the palm of the hand. It tracks perfectly on almost any surface (which many other mouse brands have trouble with). These mice use the Logitech "Unifying" USB mini receiver which can support up to six Logitech devices by itself. If you have a Logitech mouse, keyboard, trackball, etc... they can all operate from the same receiver (saves using up USB ports). Be aware that the unifying receiver ONLY works with Logitech products and that it is NOT Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Logitech products can be "paired" with the unifying receiver in Windows and MAC (of course) and also in Linux by using the software package called "solaar" (free, open source). The mouse comes pre-paired to the receiver, so it works "out of the box". If you want to add (up to 5 more devices), you have to pair them yourself. The battery life is awesome. Because I hate leaking batteries, I always use AA lithium cells for everything (including the mouse). My first old Logitech MS-510 mouse that I purchased over three years ago is still working fine on the FIRST batteries that I installed in it (two AA lithium). Since I use it on my desktop the mouse power switch is always left on. It must consume practically no power when not being used. If you use the mouse with a laptop or need to move it from computer to computer, the little unifying receiver can be stored inside the mouse (in a little USB sized slot next to the batteries) to avoid losing it. What follows is some technical information that you can skip if you don't care. Construction: This mouse is very nicely engineered and can be completely disassembled by removing two little screws inside the battery compartment. No screws hide under the teflon slider pads, so those don't get damaged if you take the mouse apart. Every component then can be removed simply by sliding or snapping it out. Why take it apart? See next. My personal feeling is that the left and right mouse buttons are too light (i.e. press too easily). The buttons are no lighter than other mice, I just prefer them a bit tighter. To change this, I replace the two little microswitches with Omron Series D2F-01 parts that have a 150 gf actuation force. It takes about twice the pressure to click these switches as compared to the originals. To replace them is super simple: Just unsolder the originals and solder the new ones in place. If you forget which way they go in, the orientation is printed on the PC board. The side "scroll" buttons already use heavier pressure microswitches, so I don't change these. The "middle button" (pressing the scroll wheel) and the left/right scroll switches (rock the scroll wheel left or right) are a different type of switch that also do not need changing. If you disassemble the mouse, be aware that the little plastic slider for the power switch will be free to fall out when the mouse PC board is removed. If you don't know this, it's possible for the slider to silently fall out, never to be seen again. I won't tell you HOW to unsolder and resolder the button microswitches, because if you don't know how, you shouldn't be doing jt in the first place (or get an electronics-knowledgable friend to help). And, of course opening and modifying the mouse will void the warranty! I will give you one important hint: Because the mouse was assembled using RoHS compliant lead free solder, the microswitch solder joints should first be RE-SOLDERED with leaded solder before sucking or wicking the joints clean. This is done to "alloy" the high temperature lead free solder into more manageable leaded solder to avoid burning/ruining the (single sided) PC board. Good luck! This mouse (hacked or not) gets 5 stars and both thumbs up. It works flawlessly, it's comfortable, battery life is amazing and the price is good (even better when it's sometimes on sale). Grab one!
