Native American & Rendezvous Clothing & Moccasin Patterns

Several fine craftworkers have helped us develop the most authentic and comprehensive Frontier and Indian clothing patterns available. Extensive information includes material requirements, layout, garment making tips, details on tribal styles, variations and decoration of each garment, such as beadwork, ribbonwork, fringe treatment, etc. Our easy-to-follow instructions are complete with detailed illustrations and photos for expert and novice alike.

Child's Cloth Dress Pattern you can make an authentically styled simple camp dress for a child. The Child's Cloth Dress Pattern includes information on tribal variations for Kiowa, Kiowa-Apache, Comanche, Cheyenne, Sioux, Crow and Blackfoot styles. Sizes 6-16.

About Your Child's Cloth Dress Pattern
Plains Indian girl's clothing styles have remained basically unchanged over the last 100 years or so, and this conservative attitude is reflected in dress styles being straight cut and rather long in comparison with today's standards. Our pattern presents a traditional style cloth dress that was popular among most of the Plains tribes from Teas to Canada and can be used as a everyday camp dress, or as a dance dress when combined with all the required dance accessories.

Materials for dresses of this sort varied from a light cotton calico, which was most popular for everyday wear, to the fancier and more expensive satins, taffeta, or even velvet, when used for dancing or formal occasions.

Our pattern will make a basic Comanche or Sioux style dress and information is included to allow easy modification to any of the following styles: Blackfoot, Crow, Cheyenne, Kiowa, Kiowa Apache, or Plateau. Also Included is information on layout and cutting. Ideas on ribbon placement, tribal variations, and highly detailed, illustrated instructions for assembly.

This is a very practical pattern for making an authentic dress for growing children, as it is easy to make, and much less expensive than making a buckskin dress. Additionally, since the length can vary from mid-calf to ankle, you can make the dress longer at first, and it can still be worn for a time after they grow.

For additional ideas on design variations, we strongly recommend that you visit your local museums and examine existing specimens. It is also advisable to study old photographs as well as the fine photos found in museum collections and published in various Indian craft magazines and exhibition catalogs such as "Dancing Colors"; "Powwow", by George P. Horse Capture, and "Powwow Country" by Chris Roberts.

Notions & Tools
Needles, thread, 1 yard of 1/4" to 3/8" ribbon, seam binding, and 3 1/2 yards of 1/2" or 5/8" ribbon.

For an everyday dress, a cotton print material such as calico is appropriate, while a formal occasion would call for the use of a finer quality material. For those occasions, a taffeta, cotton blend or satin in a stripe, solid or print would be an excellent choice. For very special occasions, velvet is sometimes used, although this material is more comfortable when worn during colder times of the year.

Amazing for evening skin tone
I’ve been using Palmer’s Skin Success Fade Milk and I’m very happy with the results. The lotion is lightweight, absorbs quickly, and doesn’t feel greasy at all. It keeps my skin well moisturized and over time I noticed my skin tone looking more even and brighter. I also like that it’s hydroquinone-free and contains niacinamide. The scent is mild and pleasant. Great quality product that delivers what it promises. I will definitely keep repurchasing!

Good for skin
Yes!!!! This actually works but the results are not permanent you have to continue using. But it does work for while in use. Would not recommend for the face though. Or should I say do not use often on face because it makes the face so oily. And not in a good way.

It works!
This is the only lotion I’ve been using on my body. I use koji acid Turmeric soap, and I use this lotion after. I’ve had these scars for years, and I’m definitely noticing a difference. I’m sure it’ll take months to finally get clear skin, but it does work. The lather could be better, so you do have to use a lot. I wish the bottle was bigger, especially since I use it on my entire body. So I have to use a lot. A bottle only last for about a month if your using it on large parts of your body. The smell isn’t bad at all, and it’s very lightweight. It doesn’t feel super moisturizing, but it’s good to SOLEY treat dark marks, but not your average everyday moisturizing lotion. But you can see a slight difference on my legs, and other parts have been clear very well. This is a great product, for a great price. I highly recommend pairing with a soap that treats dark spots.

Different package
I have been using this product for almost two years, and I absolutely love it, especially because I have very dry skin. It leaves my skin feeling extremely soft and well-moisturized even the next day. Over time, I also noticed that my dark spots started to fade. It is a great product, but it does take time to see results with dark spots. Yesterday, I ordered the same body lotion, but it arrived with a different packaging and formula. I was afraid it might affect the progress I’ve made with my skin, so I returned it and requested the original version I’ve been using.

Scent is off putting.
Seems to be a nice lotion but for me, the aroma is off putting. That makes it hard for me to use on a consistent basis. It is moisturizing and not greasy. It absorbs well into my skin. I wish it were fragrance free. My spots are still with me but that’s my fault.
