The nails are arranged in a hexagonal Flower of Life pattern, which is considered the most geometrically balanced layout for Sadhu boards. In a hexagonal grid, each nail has six neighboring nails positioned at exactly the same distance around it. This creates a uniform structure where the spacing remains consistent in every direction.

By comparison, square or diamond-shaped arrangements provide only four equally distant neighboring nails, while the remaining neighbors are located farther away. As a result, the actual spacing between pressure points becomes uneven, which can lead to areas of increased pressure and a less balanced standing experience.

The Flower of Life design is also deeply connected to natural geometry. Hexagonal structures appear throughout nature—from honeycombs and crystal formations to molecular patterns—because they provide one of the most efficient and harmonious ways to organize space.
