Measuring 9 ft 4 in x 6 ft 7 in (284.4 cms x 200.6 cms) this rug is tightly woven with wool pile on a cotton base. The use of cotton, which was once considered to be more prestigious and valuable than wool, allows for the weaving of the intricate floral desgin motifs which are typical of and unigue to traditional Kayseri rug construction techniques.
