Fabricate Luxury Integrated Drainboards and Custom Solid Surface Countertop Contours Flawlessly

Transform ordinary acrylic sheet sheets and synthetic resins into functional works of architectural art with the Freud 3-1/8 Inch Solid Surface Edge Profile Router Bit 85-115. Purpose-built for high-end kitchen remodelers, bath contractors, and custom millwork fabricators, this premium edge profiling tool is uniquely engineered to mill perfectly sloped, uniform water drainage grooves directly into man-made surfaces. The specialized cutting profile combines a flat-bottom face with a tight 1/8-inch radius shoulder, guaranteeing smooth water runoff while imparting a high-end, bespoke finish across modern solid composite configurations.

Engineered to withstand the extreme abrasive forces associated with machining compact non-porous minerals, this premium bit utilizes Freud’s proprietary, ultra-dense micrograin carbide formulation. This solid cutting core retains a razor-sharp edge significantly longer than standard woodcutting steel, ensuring pristine, burn-free finishes that require minimal post-rout sanding or hand-polishing. Built on a thick, precision-ground 1/2-inch shank core, it maintains strict balance and absorbs chatter at high rotational velocities up to 24,000 RPM. Whether guided along a template jig with a heavy-duty handheld plunge router or deployed on an automated workshop setup, this heavy-duty routing accessory delivers standard factory-fit accuracy across all composite countertops.

Key Features

  • Specialized Drainboard Profiling: Precision-ground geometry creates smooth channels with a flat center and 1/8-inch rounded wall radius for drainage lines.
  • Solid-Surface Formulated Carbide: Premium high-density micrograin composite construction guards cutting edges against abrasive synthetic mineral wear.
  • Thick 1/2-Inch Shank Core: Heavy-gauge shank core delivers maximum rigidity to neutralize bit flexing and hand-arm vibration during heavy material passes.
  • 24,000 RPM High-Speed Velocity: Speed-rated up to a fast 24,000 RPM to yield ultra-smooth finishes and prevent material chipping.
  • Dual-Flute Steel Construction: Dual-cutter arrangement ensures swift debris clearance and structural stability for consistent deep trench profiling.
  • Universal Composite Performance: Seamlessly profiles all major non-porous acrylic composite polymers and premium decorative countertop brands.

Pro-Tip: High-density acrylic polymer countertop materials absorb and retain operational friction heat quickly. When milling deep sloping drainage grooves with the wide 3-1/8 inch diameter 85-115 bit, never try to cut the full depth channel in a single plunge. Instead, clamp a rigid straightedge guide jig firmly to the surface and remove the material incrementally using 3 or 4 progressively deeper passes. This stepped cutting process preserves the micrograin carbide edges, eliminates tool chatter marks, and prevents the polymer resin base from melting or discoloring.

A little-mentioned history
Format: Kindle
Captivating History has released a publication that tells of the period when Italy, under the government of Mussolini, invaded Ethiopia and overthrew the government of Haile Salassee. This war was revenge for Italy's loss against Ethiopia in 1896 but weakened Italy which helped its decision to align with Hitler. For Ethiopia, the invasion represented a major setback, as it lost its independence and became subject to Italian colonial rule until the defeat of Italy in World War II. Haile Selassie returned to Ethiopia in 1941 after the British, in alliance with Ethiopian resistance fighters, liberated the country. The Italian invasion of Ethiopia remains a significant event in African history, highlighting the consequences of colonial aggression and the limitations of international diplomacy in preventing such conflicts. It also played a role in shaping Ethiopia's determination to regain its sovereignty and become a symbol of African resistance against colonialism. This is a worthwhile read as it explores a little-known facet of African history.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This book is an excellent read! It provides a well-organized and concise summary of Ethiopia’s entire history, which is no small task given the country’s rich and complex past. The writing is consistent, informative, and historically accurate, making it easy to follow and deeply engaging. I especially appreciate how it also includes insights into Eritrea’s history, offering a broader understanding of the region. I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking a solid, accessible introduction to Ethiopian and Eritrean history. Captivating History did a fantastic job!

A compact history
Format: Paperback
Sometimes we want to take a historical subject that we know little about and get a brief gloss to learn enough to discover which parts of the subject we want to delve into at greater length. "History of Ethiopia" is exactly what we need to satisfy that desire. We get the entire history of the African nation, from the very ancient days up to this very year, 2022. naturally, we do not get many nuances. What we do get is the big picture. We know how the various periods in history fit together. From the Queen of Sheba to the nasty era of the Communist Derg, we get a little bit of everything. One irritation that I had was the coverage of the Ethiopian-Somalia war in the 1970s. The crucial role played by the Cuban army is committed entirely. On the other hand, the 1540 Portuguese expedition headed by Christopher da Gama is briefly but adequately covered. Save for the intervention of da Gama the kingdom might well have been lost. If you need a fast introduction to Ethiopia, this is a good place to begin. Captivating History, the maker, has dozens of similar books, often on specific, narrowly focuses topics.

Ethiopia from the time when the Queen of Sheba ruled
Format: Kindle
Ethiopia has a long rich history that Captivating History managed to cover in 100 pages. This book starts out by letting us know that Ethiopia is one of the first places humans settled in. One of the first kingdoms in Ethiopia was the Kingdom of Aksum. Like most African countries, Aksum established trade routes and had the silk road running through their kingdom. The Queen of Sheba is a controversial historical leader. Many scholars believe she was queen in Ethiopia. The bible states that a queen of the south came to Israel to meet King Solomon. Historians believe that the queen of the south was in fact the Queen of Sheba. While the queen was there her and King Solomon became very close and when the Queen of Sheba returned to Ethiopia she had King Solomon's baby. Menelik I may have been King Solomon's son. Some believe that when Menelik I when to visit his father, King Solomon, Menelik returned to Ethiopia with the Ark of the Covenant. Some believe that the ark is hidden away in some Ethiopian monastery, still today. There is still a lot of Ethiopia's history left for you to learn about by reading this book.
