Introducing the APR Mk8 Golf R Cat back Exhaust System—a masterpiece crafted by enthusiast engineers who were given complete freedom to create an unparalleled exhaust system. The mission was clear: design the ultimate system that enthusiasts would desire. Prioritizing quality, style, sound, and features while keeping it accessible and affordable. Our team poured immense effort and months of development into this project. The result? A system that sets the gold standard for MK8 Golf R cat back exhaust systems, and anyone who’s experienced it knows exactly why!

The first thing that catches your eye is the system’s stunning appearance. The quality is evident at a glance—constructed from brushed T304 stainless steel with oversized 3” tubing that elegantly splits into quad 2.5” exits. Precision mandrel bending ensures a free-flowing design, while the matte carbon fiber quad tips add a touch of luxury typically reserved for vehicles twice the price! The system is packed with premium features: robust TIG welding and precision-engineered bracketry guarantee a perfect fit and alignment on every vehicle, every time. Our low-profile clamps simplify the installation, saving you time and money. Plus, the interchangeable tips offer customization options should you wish to switch up the look in the future.

But it’s the sound of this system that truly excites us. At wide-open throttle, the exhaust unleashes a ferocious roar, yet it remains refined and civilized during daily driving and cruising. This perfect balance is achieved through straight-through tubing, OEM-controlled exhaust valves, dual Helmholtz resonators, and the absence of sound-absorbing materials that could alter the pure exhaust tone. When you floor the throttle, the valves open, channeling exhaust gases through a straight, unrestricted path, maximizing power and preserving the exhilarating soundtrack. However, when you’re cruising around town or embarking on a long highway journey, the valves close, and the Helmholtz resonators work their magic, canceling out unwanted drone frequencies as sound waves collide within the offset tubing. This isn’t just theory—our engineers utilized advanced 3D sound spectrographs to analyze and fine-tune the system’s frequencies, eliminating the tones nobody wants to hear. The result is a tone that’s as pleasant as it is powerful, ensuring an enjoyable driving experience for you and your passengers. Now that’s what we call Performance Without Compromise!

SYSTEM OVERVIEW

Our exhaust system uses larger piping compared to the factory exhaust system! We use 3" (76mm) OD piping, which then splits to duad 2.5" (63.5mm) piping. The factory system uses 2.76" (70mm) piping, which reduces to 2.56” (65mm) before entering the muffler. It then splits and exits the muffler as a quad 2.36” (60mm) system, but reduces down to 1.97” (50mm) just after exiting the muffler! These reductions greatly diminishing the overall cross-sectional area of the system. Internally to the rear resonator is our dual Helmholtz frequency eliminating chambers. With the valves open, exhaust gasses flow uninterrupted through the system, and when closes they travel through smaller pipes to reduce sound volume and cancel drone frequencies. Finally, our system’s 5.2x3.9” (131mm x 99mm) matte carbon fiber tips with stainless steel inlays eclipse the factory 4.6x3.46" (117x88mm) tips, giving the rear of the vehicle a sportier look.

RESONATOR

The resonator has been tuned to eliminate drone. Internally the system features two different size pipes. With valves open the exhaust travels through the larger and louder pipes. With the valves closed, it travels through the smaller and quieter pipes. In both cases unwanted sound frequencies (drone) is canceled out, and exhaust gasses travel uninterrupted through the system. No packing material is found within to alter the exhaust note.

BRACKETS

Our brackets ensure a strong and precise fit, every time. With our design, you’ll never need to worry about the brackets sagging and losing their shape over time, or the post slipping out of the hangers. The brackets are rigid, exact in their position, fit snugly in place and are made to stand the test of time.

TUBING AND WELDS

We use T304 stainless steel tubing throughout. We brush and de-burr all pipes, use mandrel bending techniques to ensure the pipes keep a constant diameter throughout, and use TIG welding for a strong and attractive weld.

TIPS

Our matte carbon fiber quad tips upgrade the rear of the vehicle dramatically. The motorsport-inspired tips tuck nicely into the factory valance, gently following the valance’s curves and demanding all the right attention in all the right places. We have a discreet APR logo onto the top of each tip, and we use T304 stainless Torca AccuSeal clamps that bolt on with ease with hardware that rotates out of sight. Lastly, since the tips are removable, you can upgrade to any one of our optional tip designs at any time.

CLAMPS & COMPATIBILITY

Our system uses OEM-style low-profile slip clamps and T304 stainless-steel Torca AccuSeal clamps for the exhaust tips. Our clamp selection allows the system to sit high in the exhaust tunnel, as is favored by lowered vehicles, with ultimate compatibility no matter what midpipe you may have. The clamps make for easy swapping of the exhaust tips, and slide out of the way to make adding or components. Each connection point is strategically placed to ensure the system has minimal opportunity to rotate during install or during years of heavy driving. Finally, because there are no flanges or swedges on the pipe, fitting the system to the factory midpipe or others is a breeze. There’s no cutting, welding, or glaring compatibility issues, and there are no gaskets to replace.

We’ve designed our system to be 100% bolt-on. There’s no cutting, welding, or finagling to get the system to fit. It simply bolts on thanks to the included reducer.

Best dog ball in the world!
Size: Large, Pattern Name: Pack of 1, Size: Large, Pattern Name: Pack of 1
My dog is singularly obsessed with playing ball. He would drop a steak to chase a ball. (He'd return to the steak, but not without the retrieved ball. He's not an idiot.) He makes dangerous leaps, crashes into trees, and runs fast enough to catch thrown balls before they even hit the ground. Since he doesn't care about his own wellbeing, it's my job to protect him as much as I can. And a lot of balls are hard enough to cause him pain or dental damage when he mistimes a catch. Enter the ChuckIt Glow Ball! The minute Cowboy got his first Glow Ball, he no longer had any interest in the dozens of tennis balls scattered around the house and yard. If I took the Glow Ball away and instead threw a tennis ball, Cowboy would run to retrieve the ball, then return without it and begin looking all over the house for the Glow Ball. The Glow Ball is tough enough to survive Cowboy's big, sharp chompers, yet it's soft enough to do no harm when it hits him in the face. The glow feature is a huge bonus, too. Cowboy gets distracted by chipmunks and squirrels when we're playing, so he sometimes can't remember where he dropped the ball to pursue the interloper. If the ball was exposed to enough light before it was misplaced, it will be easy to find once the sun goes down. (Otherwise, Cowboy always finds it eventually.) When I'm feeling nocturnal, I'll put the ball under a light for a few minutes to activate the electrons, then treat my boy to a middle-of-the-night game of fetch. I was so happy to see these on sale, I bought a lifetime supply for my pantry. The size guide seems accurate. ChuckIt recommended the large size for a dog of Cowboy's weight and that size is perfect. Highly recommended product.

This is a big ball.
Larger than I thought but still a great toy for a heavy chew pup, easy to toss and won't go under funiture. She has the same ball in a 5 inch size so I know it's quality and will last. Can't wait for Summer, will make a great yard ball.

Second one, first one lasted a good while
We leave it outside in the weather with solid results for our backyard dog, and the dog loves this thing. It's our go to toy for her, ... perfect for kick to fetch, tug of war, hide in the shirt, bump the human leg when it is wet, etc. ;) The first one we used and used and finally it started to show too much weathering, mildew, and finally breaking after like 1.5 years... we have extremely hot and wet weather here. When new though, these balls take a pounding. Our 50 pound dog can play tug of war to the extent we can pick her up while she holds onto the ball with her teeth. The ball doesn't flinch and the dog loves it. Kicking it is fun because you can give it a wallop and it won't go over the fence since the design absorbs a fair bit of the kick energy, but it is still enough for an adult or teen to send it about 1/4 an acre away. What else... oh the dog has a funny habit of finding the one spot that isn't an empty pentagon... as in the plastic is filled in there... and she likes to bit on that part especially during tug of war. I should also mention our dog literally breaks apart and sometimes eats sticks and twigs in the yard, can't be healthy, so a nice diversion is this ball that she will chew on once in a while without destroying it.

Absolutely love this brand of ball for my dog
I end up replacing these every couple years, yep that's right, years. My border collie will grab this ball in his mouth and then kick another ball around. Don't know why he has to have something in his mouth to play soccer, but he is unique. He managed to tear one of these up when he was in his teething stage, but it took him months, and I took it away as soon as he managed to remove a piece of it. Otherwise, we usually lose these much more often than them getting destroyed through constant chewing, and I suspect heavy weathering outside for an extended period of time. Nowadays he doesn't chew on rubber nearly that often, he has developed his own picky preferences. This ball is his must have for playing around. He loves to drop it down the stairs and play fetch with himself. It's easy for him to grab, it isn't heavy so we don't worry about furnishing, walls, or family members when he is tossing it around. It is much more durable than most, with the exception of really heavy chewers/teething, even then it held up for a long time. As long as you are careful to remove it if they manage to chew through I would even try it out with teething puppies. The lawnmower is also this balls nemesis, it loses every time. If only I could convince the dog that he needs to stop sacrificing toys to the lawnmower :-)
