This Chianti Classico is made from Sangiovese grown in small- and medium-sized vineyards at Fèlsina in Castelnuovo Berardenga, located in the southern part of the Chianti Classico zone northeast of Siena. The vineyards, many over 50 years old, sit at elevations between 350 and 420 meters with southwest exposure and soils composed of quartzitic blue-grey sandstone, calcareous alberese, sand, and alluvial pebbles.

During fermentation, the wine undergoes automatic daily punch-downs at 28–30°C followed by a 12–15 day maceration. After fermentation, it is aged for 12 to 16 months in medium-sized Slovenian oak barrels, then rests an additional three to six months in bottle before release. The result is a classically styled Chianti Classico that reflects the structure and character of traditional Sangiovese from this historic part of Tuscany.
